[ Character's Name ] : Princess Celestia
[ Character's Age ] : ...Uhm. 1000+
[ Series ] : My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
[ Canon Point ] : Post Episode 22
[ History ] :
Wiki [ Personality ] :
Being the ruler of Equestria, Celestia is naturally kind, benevolent, mature, wise, and always carries an air of royal grace. She is very gentle and caring, always looking after her loyal subjects and ensuring that they are kept safe and happy. But there is more to the princess than meets the eye.
Noble. As princess, Celestia is very refined. She knows all of the proper social etiquette and is very polite to everyone she meets. She is also quite responsible, especially for her duties. If any of the smaller towns are in trouble and in need of her help, she is quick to respond and will come to their aid. She places her ponies and country first, and loves them as much as they love her-which is quite a lot. She will also hand out missions to those whom she believes will be able to successfully complete them and always holds a lot of faith and belief in those she's chosen-such as Twilight Sparkle.
Wise. Celestia is quite knowledgeable on a lot of subjects, both academically as well as through life experience. Thus she makes for an excellent teacher, mentor, and adviser. She will gladly lend a helping hoof to those who need direction, though she may be a bit indirect on her "words of wisdom." This is because she wants the pony to fully understand the lesson by going through all the hardships that come with it. Even though she could always say the answer, it might not be fully understood or appreciated. There's also usually an underlying message in addition to the main point, which she will then clarify if it is not initially understood.
Goodnatured. Despite all her more dominant and visible traits, Celestia is not at all stiff. While she may find certain things as strange or odd, she does have a good sense of humor and will freely laugh or make subtle jokes and teases. However, when she does pull a small prank, it's always in a subtle manner and always to the benefit of the other. For instance, if a pony is nervous or things are a little too serious, she'll play a subtle trick just to break that tension and ease the atmosphere. She is very tolerable of rudeness, and while she might pause in slight surprise, she does not think too much about it. Of course, this can depend on who and what exactly the circumstances. For instance, if someone was deliberately being a jerk, while she would still be polite, she would be more likely to give a light reprimand. As mentioned before, she also places a lot of faith and belief in those around her, so it would be rather hard to disappoint her. Even if a mission is a failure, she would continue to show her support. She also enjoys the random chat whenever she has the chance.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Celestia is a very powerful pegasus unicorn. Not only does she have high longevity, she also looks pretty damn good for her age. Her magic is also not something you want to mess with. While her powers have not been fully explained, there are some abilities one can glean from what has been shown so far. For instance, though she primarily controls the sun and daytime sky, she also has the ability to control the moon and night. She can also calm a unicorn's magic going berserk by just being there and using her own powers to quell the power. Like other unicorns, Celestia has the ability to use her magic to manipulate objects, like psychokinesis.
However, she is not all powerful. As demonstrated from the first episode [and part of the plot point], she can succumb to other powerful magic and be cursed/captured. It's also not known what her physical endurance is like and how she would fair in a physical fight. While one can assume she would be able to hold her own fairly well, her actual strength is still questionable. She's not frail, but not really strong either.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Her mane and tail are always flowing. Always. Even when there is no wind. Also, her powers to control the sun/day and moon/night are probably not gonna be around in Vatheon. ...Particularly since one can't really see the sun or moon.
Those wings aren't for show. She can fly, but she probably doesn't often. Her cutiemark (that tattoo on her flank) is the symbol of the sun. She also wears a tiara/crown and a necklace. She also has fancy "horse shoes."
