I was told earlier in the year that I would slowly give up habits that did not advance my life goals, and hearing this I clutched my heart in horror, wondering what that would do to my TV-watching habits. That ended up being right, but I'm at peace with that now. NaNo is not a good time to catch up on TV shows, but I'd be doing a marathon catch-up ( Read more... )

Ooh, you should catch up on The IT Crowd! It's kind of ridiculous and eye-rolly a lot of the time, but also weirdly charming. Mostly I just ♥ Moss a lot. :)

You should at least watch this week's Gerard Butler SNL episode, it's the best of the season.

Avatar should happen for you!

Nurse Jackie was good and really short, should be no problem to cram that in.

Heroes is good this season, The Office not so much. (But Parks & Recreation is great.)

And yeah, I'm also watching Cougartown. It's getting better each week, they just need to slow down the frantic pacing and they're good.

I love Avatar. Paul and I did a mini marathon of it the other day.

The only shows I really watch are Eureka and new ones like Community and I just got into Fringe.

I keep trying to talk Paul into getting rid of cable tv but then I guess we won't have cable internet? I watch junk tv like Judge Judy anyway.

I would recommend *not* wasting your time on Torchwood or BSG. I made it through a few episodes of each, but found Torchwood dull (awesomeness of John Barrowman and Welsh accents notwithstanding), and I've been comparing BSG to Dan Brown novels: exciting, sure, but shitty writing. A lot of it ONLY makes sense from the writers' point of view (suspense!), NOT because it made sense for the characters. Argh. Also, 90% of the dialogue is about religion / fate. Annoying. I would suggest, instead, Better Off Ted, which is ridiculous.

I think the only others on your list I watch are Nurse Jackie (better than the promos would have you believe), the unfortunately named Cougartown, and Castle, because Nathan Fillion.
