Futurama is baaaack!

It is disgustingly sticky hot. Not right this minute, of course, but it just....has been. I laugh in the face of hundred degree days, but hundred degree days with 72% humidity (really?)is not fair. There are three things I want to post about, and they all involve television. That's a bit sad, but so it goes. I'll start with that popular television

It's so great to have it back! I hope they haul out some more geek jokes too. :D

I still think it's weird that Futurama has never referenced Doctor Who (that I've noticed). I'm pretty sure Simpson's has. The really super nerdy references to 70's sci-fi novels, old computer schematics and physics jokes make me glee, though.

Well, Leela was named after Classic Who's Leela. But I can't think of any outright references.

Ah, that's true. I always forget about that. Which is weird, because Leela is my second favorite Who companion (Rose is still first). It's still way more subtle than having the fourth Doctor show up (which I recall Simpson's doing).
