We showed up to the Library 'round 3, which lies across the road from the edge of the continent, in Big Sur. We settled on our blankets in front of the tiny stage and ( Read more... )

it was a lovely evening. big sur and carmel valley are very dear to my heart, i spent my childhood summers there with lightning storms and puppies. my parents live in the valley now.

quite a few of the hills are absolutely barren and scorched by the fire. it came up literally about 10 feet behind the Library, it's quite surreal to see. making room for new growth, one hopes. scary, but much needed, apparently.

you have no idea how dreamy. i think you are one of only two people who understand why he is my soul mate.

i will photograph the kazoo once i get my camera back (from my cousin, who, randomly, will be on some big food network competition in march. i don't know if you chefs keep up with that sort of thing, but, well.)

mmm perfect evening. wandering down brick lane while listening to alela made me miss the dry ascetic hum of home, and all the condemned rogues who sailed across the sea with her pirates to make it all possible.
