Here, for all of you to enjoy,
I got to school about 40 minutes early because I knew that the holiday drinks were out at Starbucks and I wanted a Peppermint Mocha. However, that also meant that I got to class 30 minutes early and I got to sit in an empty classroom for that duration.
Now, I don't know if you know this, but 30 minutes is a long time to sit in an empty classroom. I brought out all of my stuff for class and just sort of sat there, waiting to someone to come in so I wouldn't be alone.
And then who should walk in?
If you guessed anyone I've mentioned before, you are wrong. It was Paul, the guy who sits in front of me! Paul is a new character to this blog, and I wanted to introduce him. He will forever be known as this guy:
Stephanie: I like your earrings-
Paul: ME TOO, I JUST DIDN'T WANT TO SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WEIRD...you know, because I don't know you...
Ever since then, every time I talk to Stephanie, my writing buddy, Paul has weaseled his way into our conversation. However, since Stephanie wasn't there, we had to actually talk one on one.
Paul is a CHARACTER. Immediately, we started talking about...
- Dr. Cook and Dr. Gates
He mentioned that they're a lot alike. I mentioned that they reminded me of John and Hank Green. Of course, he had no idea what I was talking about.
- A random concert
It went as such:
"Hey, you should come to a concert on Thursday!"
And then...
- Veterans
He said he was going to Applebee's before the concert because it would be Veteran's Day and he'd get a free meal. I said, "But you aren't a veteran...are you?" He was, and when I tried to go, "Oh, okay," he insisted on showing me his card with all of his information.
- Kerman
Yes, Kerman, poetry professor Kerman. The following conversation took place:
Paul: Have you taken Kerman?
Me: ...Have YOU?
Paul: I asked you first!
Me: No, you!
Paul: Well, you probably liked her because you're a girl.
Me: O_o ...She asked me how I passed intro to creative writing.
Paul: Hahahahaha.
Me: So, nooooo...
Paul: Yep, she's a total bitch.
And then he described the fact she would spent 40 minutes just tearing apart his work. He even turned in a famous song just to see what she would do and she said it was the worst dribble she'd ever read. I was so surprised and relieved to find someone else who disliked her outside of poetry class.
After that interesting conversation, I got to go to Academic Advising.
To sit there.
For 2 hours.
Just so a lady could give me no advice.
The wait wasn't actually that bad. Annie, a girl from my classes, was waiting too and we started talking about classes and then we got on the subject of Glee. I got to tell her about my dream with Chord Overstreet because she was gushing all over the character of Sam Evans. It was awesome. I also made friends with a girl named Laura because the TV in Wickes was playing a hunting show and we were disgusted with the blood and guts.
The advising made me finalize my schedule for Winter 11. Since I can't take Field Work, Psychology, Philosophy, or Communications because of Samarco's class, I'm only going to be taking 9 credits.
