the way she's killed reminds me of Bridge to Terebithia, but not the whole family situation of either character, so I assume it's something else I've blocked from my mind. I have some nit-picky stuff but I think I'll leave it in a fictionpress review or email you or something.

Oh! but I was going to tell you that a friend of mine (a senior) is going to spend 1-5 years teaching English in Japan starting next year.

it reminded me a lot of the awakening, with the emphasis on swimming, similar death, and trying to prove something to herself or the world.
