Midsummer

As soon as I post this I shall change into my Morris kit to go and dance on Hartshead Pike, the highest really local hill: blue and white striped frock, dark blue tights, clogs with dark blue lace-up uppers, straw hat with artificail flowers all round it. I shall be picturing you in all your fleece-hidden finery (not a big stretch, where I live it always snows on Halloween, so all the kids are in costume, but you still have to ask what they're dressed as under the layers;)

The Eve of the First Day of Winter (which is how the Welsh translates) is one thing, but Midsummer is something else again.

I was glad that I took precautions, but the wind chill nearly defeated me.
