Yesterday was swimming day - AquaFit, which is excellent (since I started in September I have lost half an inch off my hips and an inch off my waist). Afterwards, I had a look round the market in Ashton under Lyne and was heading towards the market hall. I noticed that the local regiment was doing some sort of PR/recruitment thing. I'm glad there were plenty of people around skilled in first aid who could look after you. Hope the lip heals quickly.

They didn't actually do anything in the first aid line, just ordinary stuff; but it was what I needed, and the best of it was that they didn't fuss. If I had to do it, it was definitely the best time and the best place. Definitely good PR.

Actually, what you're calling the "ordinary stuff" is exactly what first aiders should do most of the time. But if people aren't trained they can panic and/or do the wrong thing, which makes things worse.
