Taking off from the hospital almost instantly had her heading north, though she personally had no way of knowing that, and could only guess that maybe she was going in the right direction. It seemed like behind the hospital there was little more than a sparse smattering of buildings that tapered off in to a slightly more residential area, and for whatever reason her gut told her that was the wrong way. So upwards it was, through the crumbling streets and past the eerily empty buildings. She tried not to think about the fact that she was alone here, only that her brother was somewhere close. Seeing his face again would make those constant twisting knots of fear in her stomach go away, if only for a little while.
She also ignored the fact that she truly had no idea which way to go, just that she was letting her feet and instinct carry her.
After a great distance and a distinct lack of breath later, she stopped, mainly because she felt ill and her lungs were straining, but also because she'd heard the voice activation of the journal device start up in her hand, the button getting pressed somewhere along the way. Gasping, nearly choking for air, she put in a quick entry and shut it off, hand pressing against the wall with her other hand on her knee, deep gasps being the only thing she could manage for several minutes.
Finally she looked up at the long stretch of road, the unremarkable sights and the lack of landmarks, all giving her a sense that she was just running on a looping track that led to nowhere. She didn't know where to go, where she was, or even what direction she was heading.
"Damn..." she hissed, fingers curling in to a fist against the wall.
Shouldn't have left...shouldn't have ran off...that was stupid. Roy always said...I make such rash decisions when it comes to my brother I don't even stop and think! ...what do I do now? Hex...
Fustrated and angry with herself, she threw her head back and cried out, voice echoing along the rubble laden corridor.
"HEX! HEXAN WHERE ARE YOU?!"
