Intended Rescue [Closed]

Content: The 'search party' finds Simera, and another surprise as well.
Setting: Buildings just outside the library
Warnings: Horrible mutant animal death?
A yell that slightly echoed off the nearby buildings brought Ana and Hardy's attention to where Rory had walked to. The two exchanged both relieved and worried glances from a distance, and in an instant they were bolting to the sound of the voice.
Ana stumbled to a halt once the two were in front of her, Hardy just a few paces behind, and she let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding, glad to see her safe, if not a little injured.
Of course the visible injury brought back a flash of her own encounter with the local creatures, and the flicker of a smile faded quickly.
"How... did you get away from them?" she asked in a darker tone than she'd intended. Something didn't feel right, and something wasn't adding up.
Slowly her gaze lifted, beyond the girl's oddly colored and short cropped hair, past her shoulder and towards the building with the low broken out windows on the bottom floor, near the steps but not still completely off the street. Something was laying there, unmoving and familiar, but still slightly undefined at that distance.
Without waiting for an answer, she moved around the girl, creeping slow and quiet to the lump, concerned that it might just be unconscious, having a feeling she knew what it was.
It only took closing the gap by a couple of feet for her to let out a strangled yelp and fall back, hands on her mouth as she felt nausea rising in her stomach again, her eyes huge in her head.
"H-how... how did... you're just a girl...right?"
