Character: Tyki Mikk
Series: D.gray-man
Type: Alternate Universe
Age: Thousand+ (He's forgotten how old he actually is) but looks mid thirties
Gender: Male
Species: Human enhanced with Memories from the Clan of Noah
Appearance:
He is almost always seen in his Noah form: gray skin, gold eyes, black hair and crosses that ring the forehead. He keeps his hair short and wears the garb seen in his first appearance which is a long trench coat, top hat, and general suit appearance.
In the instances when he is in his human form, he'll take on a similar appearance. Unlike his early canon versions, he won't dress down to that of a wandering hobo, but keep the same attire. However, he does have a few canon differences. The entire right side of his face is covered in burn scars. They are made by Innocence and haven't healed.

Psychology:
Despite being from an alternate universe, he is at his core, Tyki Mikk. Let's start with that first.
At the beginning of the series there are two distinct personalities. Now this isn't caused by some trauma or mental illness. No, Tyki creates two distinct lives because it amuses. The trill of keeping them both very active, yet separate is a challenge he enjoys and thrives on. The first personality is that of a wayward bum. One that travels from town to town looking for mining gigs along with some traveling buddies. They are poor, scraggly yet a hardworking jovial bunch with a knack for cheating at poker. They get by day to day and seem content with their lot in life.
His second personality is one of a murderer. At some point a Memory of Noah's Pleasure, Joyd the 3rd Disciple awoke within him. The Noah Memories are reborn time and time again and live to serve and protect the Millennium Earl. Joyd has the power of choice. Anything in the world Tyki can freely interact with or not interact with allowing him to walk on walls, stand on air, or even house tools in the shape of butterflies known as Tease within him. Their true goals are unknown, but the entire group delights in killing humans thinking themselves something more, something better. In this avenue of life Tyki cleans up his speech, puts on a pressed suit, and travels around the world doing the Millennium Earl's bidding. The most common being murdering the Exorcists. Tyki takes great joy in watching those on his list die with fear in their eyes as his powers allow him to pluck organs or have his mechanical butterflies eat them out while the victim is still alive. He tends to be very boastful and arrogant in this form treating others as merely toys in a chest.
Tyki goes about living these lives in parallel spending time in one or the other keeping the balance. Now whether he is acting like a hobo on a corner or as an assassin, the two personalities still have a similar base to draw from. Tyki is generally laid back. Life goes by and he gets the opportunity to pick and choose which parts he enjoys. He is driven by what he sees and enjoyable and rarely deviates from that. He doesn't hold a sense of justice or righteousness. Life come. Make the most of it and enjoy. Now this doesn't mean his is passive about life. More that he searches for least amount of effort with greatest reward. He is also a rather sarcastic fellow calling the main protagonist a cheating boy when he was so thoroughly trounced by cards by him. He will even sometimes mock the Earl by calling him fat or naming some of the other members of the family such as the one that likes candy 'Sweet tooth'. He is also rather personable in a way. He's got his human buddies he hangs around with generally like him and miss hm when he leaves. The same goes for his Noah family. He seems to get along with the group fairly well.
On an intellectual level, however, Tyki doesn't seem to be at the top of the class. His fighting style seems to favor gut instinct rather than critical inspection of the battlefield. He joins battles because it is 'fun' and that is the goal he is trying to achieve. He also seems rather unhelpful with Road and her homework. In general, studying and such don't appeal to him. He leaves that up to other members of the group. In short, Tyki doesn't really concern himself with the big picture. He is just in it for the here and now.
However, this all changes once his Noah is completely awakened. Allen Walker, the protagonist, had a means of destroying the Noah within him. He'd always struggled keeping the two lives balanced, and Tyki was actually suppressing his full Noah potential to preserve it. In the end, however, he did choose his white life, taking the hit and preventing his allies from interfering. But life isn't what one always expects. Somehow this backfires, and Joyd is fully awakened. Once that settles down, Tyki abandons his white life and focuses on the Earl's task in earnest.
Okay, okay, so what is different about this particular alternate universe version?
There are few things. First, due to his circumstances he has a closer affinity with his Noah clan. Their deaths have put their memories in a stated where he sees them with 'rose colored glasses'. He thinks fondly of them, and due to this is less likely to not at all able to be simply enjoy his white life. That is more foreign to him than anything. The second is he is more assertive. Events have made him see the benefits of taking the reigns on one's life rather than sample picking out what comes down the path. Now, this doesn't mean he still isn't in for the most bang for his buck, he is just more inclined to make things happen or set rather lofty goals in place if they suit his needs. Along with this he's become much more of a showman like the Earl. While he doesn't plan things out for elaborate plays with multiple pieces falling into place, he can appreciate how setting up a pawn or two can make the outcome a bit more spectacular. The workmanship a bit more holistic.
He is more unstable. Tyki constantly hears the voices of the Memories in his head. It is an eternal peanut gallery with their own thoughts, opinions and desires. He's dealt with it long enough to be able to function quite well, but he is more prone to react to smaller things that wouldn't normally trigger him if he were canon. He is more prone to maiming and switching topics once they bore him. A little bit like ADHD. However, as time has gone by killing has had less meaning to him. He rather enjoys his victims being in fear or uncomfortable with a situation than he is about the ultimate demise.
From his time in the alternate dimension, he has become more tolerant. He's seen his other versions and at least a dozen copies or so of people who knew of in his home world. A version won't bother him. He can clearly see them as separate people with distinct differences. Now, he won't go so far as to say this. He'll mock the people and lump them together with nicknames of the sort, but he knows there are differences and can see them. Therefore, two versions of the same person will hardly cause him to pause, and he can clearly differentiate his opinions of people from his worlds to versions of others. Some feelings bleed through, but he is better able to compartmentalize it.

AU Events
The scientists worked tirelessly on understanding the intricacies and abilities of the Ark that had been claimed from the Earl in Edo. Allen even began lending a hand spending more time in the Ark than outside of it. He wanted the conflict to be over. The world save for both Akuma and humans alike. Allen and the scientists were able to get the Ark to remember where it had been. Similar to getting a log or reservation book of all the places it had been. The key was Hevlaska. When she was in the Ark it seemed to react and become more alive. It attuned to her as the Innocence did as if the Ark was some missing piece to the puzzle. The group was never able to determine why as they spent their time researching more tactical information. Most importantly, where the Earl's bases were.
The Ark had opened to many spots, and the research took months. Bookman and Lavi were key as they were able to take the images and locations from the Ark and place them on a map. The most skilled of Finders led by Toma went to investigate. They were able to find the Kamelot mansion and piece together the events surrounding the country and the conflicts and war that seemed to hover over it. It wasn't until there was a sighting of Jasdero and Devit entering the place boisterously that they confirmed their suspicions. They had discovered the most recent base of the Millennium Earl.
A plan was set into motion. It was an all out attack with all the stop and roadblocks laid bare. All of the Exorcists, Crow, and Thirds were gathered for the final blow in an attempt to swiftly end the war. With the scouting they had done, they were able to find locations to open gates to the Kamelot mansion. The time was late into the evening as guests were spilling out from one party or another. Some of the Exorcists were able to mingle in with the departing guests. Their target was the Kamelot Mansion, and they were able to catch it by surprise. Battle ensued within the manor. Tyki slew Timothy before being confronted by the trio of Krory, Lavi, and Marie. He eventually retreated but not before before being burned across one side of his face courtesy of Lavi's hammer. During his retreat he caught sight of the injured twins and the melted remains of Road. The Memory of Noah did not react as it had for others of their clan that had fallen, so he gave it no mind. He eventually encountered a furious Millennium Earl. It was a sight he didn't want to see again. The Earl entrusted him with Relo and a cryptic saying about one of them choosing the next before before disappearing into their own Ark. Tyki didn't have time for clarification as he and the umbrella went to rejoin the battle where he encountered Allen Walker. He was thoroughly trounced by the cheating boy, but the building had begun to blaze and fall apart due to battling combatants within. The halls were strewn with dead Exorcist, Noah, and other combatants alike. Allen turned from the fight then dragging survivors, friend and foe, out. Tyki was included in this. He mocked the cheating boy for his foolishness as the Exorcist headed back to the building. He didn't get far. Before he can return Allen Walker was beheaded by Crow who whispered betrayal of the Fourteenth on their lips. Tyki doesn't remember what happens next succumbing to injuries. Only that when he awoke the mansion was less than dust and the rest of the Noah were nowhere to be found.
Little by little, the Memories started to make themselves known. All Fourteen of them find their way into his possession. Tyki lost a few years of times as they settled out the living arrangements. Wrath gets sealed almost immediately by Joyd the ring leader by default. The Memory of the Earl, Adam, chooses to watch from the sidelines and the rest remain present, but not overall loud. News of Akuma attacks lessen. Exorcists no longer patrol the streets. Time passes. How much Tyki doesn't bother to keep track of but is the better part of a decade. The various Noah memories settles in his head. He learns to get acquainted with Lustul and uses her powers to wrap around him like a second skin at all times. He looks human, but never is. As to how he spends his days, Tyki takes up to wandering from job to job. He really doesn't know what to do with his current predicament, and charging the Order on his own was less than appealing. He spends his life more or less existing day to day. He becomes apathetic and almost listless. Thoughts of even rebuilding what was destroyed are far from his mind. He even manages to lose the Ark at some point losing its location in one country or another.
Enter into game memories
But such things were not meant to last. At one point, Tyki finds himself dropped in a crossroad between worlds. Another dimension plagued by faces he recognizes from his home world. People try to explain the situation to him. That he is in a world outside of all others. He disregards it despite the obvious oddities. People whom he knew were dead were alive. Some who were male became female. Some where even had swapped roles being Noah or Exorcists respectively. Others claimed to have come from the future. The best of all was that people who died here came back to life. It was all very confusing. Instead of trying to puzzle it out, he denied it. Tyki chalked it up to a strange town or his mind playing tricks on him. Or a bad dream that seemed to stretch on and on having to spend over two years there.
After many months, Tyki finally realized that the people are telling him the truth when he experimented on a dead corpse, an Exorcist version of himself no less. The man had recently died. Tyki hid a poker deck in the folds of their coat. A few days later the man revive alive and happy and full of memories of what happened. Though, the Exorcist don't return his deck much to his dismay. But the incident made him believe that what was said was true. That this place he was stuck in was actually a mixing of worlds and people drug from them.
He stayed in this place quite content to confuse people who ventured in. Most anyone would believe what he said so why bother with the truth? They'd figure it out anyway. He met a variety of people and something happened that he never expected. One member of the Bookman Clan was chosen by Tyki's memory of Dreams to become the next host. At first Tyki was relieved that maybe he could actually make some progress in the task of rebuilding, but that feeling didn't last long. The ability sent the man into madness. A Road Tyki had become quite fond of over time took him away somewhere. Tyki never saw the man again and assumed Road put a permanent end to him. Suddenly the Earl's last words of reviving seemed like an impossible goal. He began to ignore them choosing to focus on the here and now.
That, however, didn't last very long. This dimension had a nasty habit of shoving into people's faces what they didn't want to see. Sometimes it was through a dream. Other times an endless hall with no exit and deadly monsters around every corner. Sometimes it was light hearted, too, setting up tea parties where those involved turned into animals and their personalities shifted, but those weren't the ones that change his mindset. No, the former did. He ended up in those hallways more than once and it seemed one of his doubles, a canon version of himself, seemed to always stumble about the labyrinths together. In their first encounter, after suffering cracked ribs and a collapsed lung, he dipped into the power of the Earl in order to escape. It left him light headed for days, but with a new respect for the Noah and their work. He became more loyal to the cause he served years ago rather than enjoying the company of both sides of the war as he had done before. He also began to practice taming the various Noah Memories within his head. Something he had never done before. With them came their personalities. Desires made him more flamboyant. Wisely more introspective. And while he never learned to control them completely, it did reawaken his desire to complete the old cause. While the spark was there, he didn't act on it. The opposite in fact. He made a pledge to Road and his other self for the three of them to leave this place together and to forget the war between Exorcist and Noah. Well, the last part was a pledge made between the two Tykis. That fact was hidden from Road.
But as quickly as things are gained in these halls, things are lost. A bad idea left him tumbling into a river that robbed him of his memories when he came out. And what better way to celebrate carelessness than with another venture through those trapped halls with his other self. This time it was a casino, but instead of betting coins, they bet Noah Memories. Not that either of them knew it at the time, but by the end it did become apparent. When the smoke had cleared, and the cards feel where they did, Tyki had regained all of his Noah Memories, his actual memories, plus another. A chip that he still believed to this day to be Dreams. That urge to go back and fulfill the Earl's request became stronger. He still realized that the conflict, the goal the Earl was striving for, was rather pointless, but he felt his work was unfinished. That he had not kept the promise he made to his clan that died that day. Add in a touch more other worldy magic, and he was confronted with himself accusing him of that very thing.
He departed from the place then. Researched and guessed theories on how the three of them, the two Tykis and Road, would leave were now used for him to return to his home world. He found a solution. One that involved the help of a Lavi, a hallway that could only be found by getting lost, and then only a small percentage that it wouldn't drop him in some unknown place. He took it anyway and returned home.
Exit game memories
Tyki finds himself back home except that he doesn't remember the endless halls or the people he met. He only has a vague recollection that he should be doing something, and that something was giving a bit of payback to the Order of this world. It drove him for hundreds even a thousand years. New Noahs are formed, but unlike the Earl he doesn't care for them at first. He waited for a year to see if they could survive on their own before collected them. Tyki never learned how to recreate Akuma so he searched the world for the ones remaining. Tyki played the game of guerrilla warfare until the Order lay dead. The Heart never reveals itself. If it had, he probably would have lost. The rest of human civilization was next no longer caring if that was in the Earl's plans or not. The world remained in ruin with the Noah standing victorious. Tyki ended up killing them, too, and horded the Memories for himself. They were never real members of the family anyway. The Noah memories settled back into his head as they were when he first was taken away into that other world, but in return they grant him his memories of that place he spent a few years of his life. The one he had intended to return to.
And then, Tyki waited. For that world to bring him back as he began to reawaken the powers in his head and recreate the Ark. Before he can complete, though, fate steps in his way again, and he is brought into another world entirely.
Welfare Assessment:
☇ lucidity - how much hallucinations, nightmares, horrors and the like effect them
Tyki's little jaunt through that other dimension actually gave him quite a thick skin to all things nightmares and hallucinations. He won't be running in fear or terror from spooks or even himself in a mirror. Their affects on him won't be so drastic. However, they will be able to affect him in subtle ways. Get a ghost of an ally to hint that one faction should be destroyed, and he might start swaying in that direction. Have a vision of himself tell him he's doing something wrong, and he'll make amends to fix it over time. In other words, visions will give him food for thought to act upon in the long term, but will do little more than inconvenience him in the short.
☇ stability - the ability or inability to generally carry on without having major breakdowns or cracking
Tyki is surprisingly resilient against physical damage. He can take quite a bit and keep going with no trouble at all. However, mental damage is something he is weak against. He is constantly vying for power and control in his own head. Break that control by giving him a bone or a juicy steak this way, and he will jump for it. These are triggered of things Tyki already enjoys doing in life. He is a bit of a sadist and enjoyed watching his victims die horribly in fear. Present this opportunity to him, and take it even with an ally. Tyki has similar thoughts to most people, but the level of respect he has for them tempers his hands. Remove that tempering, and he will even kill his best friend. This cold almost go in the lucidity section.
Now, in terms of carrying on through hardship, he'll be pretty solid. He has a strong aversion to dying and will continue even if everyone else dies around it. He'll delude himself with alcohol or just distancing himself from the memories to survive intact, but survive he will.
☇ normalcy - general behaviour patterns on fitting in or standing out and how well they can resist falling into unusual temptations and keep in line - whatever that might mean for them
Tyki has no desire to be normal. He'll fit in if he must, but that is about as far as it goes. Being part of normal society is no more than a game and a way to keep life existing. It should be noted that Tyki has little to no self control. If his whim is to annoy someone, he will. If it is to kill someone, he will. If it is to drink until he can barely stand and dance on a bar table, well, you guessed it. He does what he wants when he wants and gives no quarter to the long term consequences.
Here you should also consider the time period and how that might worsen the character's condition. Will the lack of modern conveniences be distressing? Will the character seem likely to run themselves ragged trying to help or fight? Will the less than ideal weather and air pollution cause them to get sick often? These are just some things to consider.]
Arrival Choice: Wrong Turn
Skills, Abilities & Weaknesses
Tyki does have all the Noah Memories except for Dreams, however, Tyki doesn't have the ability to use all the Noah Memories. Actually, most are locked to him and he can use them if he concentrates very hard or if it is a gut reaction that lets him do it. They are highly unreliable in this way and can only be used one at a time. The only exception to this rule is Form. Form is always activated to serve the vanity of his appearance.
Earl/Adam: [LOCKED] The most powerful and the leader of the Noah. The memory of Adam, the first disciple, has the ability to attach souls to machines to create Akuma, throw around Dark Matter energy enough to flatten towns, and can control the Ark, a vessel that allows them to open portal and connections between spaces. This is the most volatile of the Memories and has the highest potential to blow Tyki up rather than any enemy he is fighting. This power only comes unconsciously under extreme circumstances. He can not call it forth on his own.
Judgment: [LOCKED] Pending more canon information.
Pleasure/Joyd: [FULLY AWAKENED] The most treasured out of all the Memories. Joyd was his to begin with, and of all the memories fits his personality the most. This allows him to choose what in the world he wants to interact with. The abilities include passing through objects, standing on air, creating energy bursts of dark matter, and creating a vacuum of empty air in which to suffocate enemies.
Desires: [PARTIALLY UNLOCKED] Desires has the ability to control people as if puppets on strings. He could easily have his victim walk across the room as bend their legs to the breaking point. Tyki is only able to access this will full concentration. In reality, however, this power doesn't sit well with him because it reminds him of the last host. He doesn't want to be that creepy.
Wisely: [LOCKED] The ability to read other minds and crush them. Intellectual skills is not Tyki's strong point. He has no idea how to use it.
Corrosion: [LOCKED] Pending more canon information. But let's be honest. Tongue with eyeballs. That would ruin anyone's day.
Mercym: [LOCKED] Pending more canon information.
Wrath: [LOCKED] A Memory that fuels the host with such hatred that they can't see anything else. It provides great strength and the ability to call forth lightning. Also, Wrath is able to funnel his own damage to his victims
Dreams/Road: [LOST/GONE] The ability to drag people into the land of dreams and to set upon them with nightmares. This brings about both mental and physical damage. Under extreme circumstances, it can also allow the user mind control their victims. Dreams also has the power to open doors between two locations and cross large spans of distance.
Bond: [LOCKED] Normally seen given to a pair. When the two minds are in sync, they can create anything they can think of from a gun to a concept like 'angry Earl'.
Lustul/Form: [FULLY AWAKENED] The ability to shape shift not only in other mammal forms but objects such as water or monsters as well. Tyki uses this to hide the various scars he's formed over the years as well as continue to look as if he hasn't aged. It is a tool for his own vanity.
Talent: [LOCKED] Pending more canon information.
Fourteenth: [LOCKED] The ability to control and move the Ark. Also the traitor among them.
Noah: [LOCKED] Awakened only when all other Memories are unlocked. This is the Noah clan in its most powerful form. It doesn't so much as provide additional powers but let the other memories work in concert. To note this is not canon, but just an idea I came up with.
Other:
Cursed Poker Chip: While he no longer has Dreams, he does have a replacement Dreams. It is a poker chip sealed with something that feels like the lost Memory to the point where he can't tell the difference. It allows him to shape dreams, but doesn't hold the physical body maiming that Road possesses. It is much weaker and meant to bring about nightmares and psychological damage rather than physical.
Combat: He is pretty good with hand to hand combat. More of a generic street punch and go rather than a traditional fighting art style. So he can hold his own in hand to hand combat. However, any other weapon he has little to no skill with. This can include knives, firearms, or any other sort of martial aide. Sure, he can swing it and hope he hits the target well enough, but there is no actual skill involved.
Tease: These are mechanical butterflies created by the Millennium Earl. They grow and multiple by eating human flesh. They also have the ability to elongate and become white shields that Tyki fights with.
Relo: A sentient umbrella golem carried by the Millennium Earl. It has a personality of its own with the abilities of flight so it can carry him around. This isn't currently in his possession. He gave it away.
Weaknesses:
Tyki's biggest weakness is his actually himself and the biggest component of that is his ego. Sure, he can have all the powers of the cosmos, but if one doesn't know how to make toast and scrambled eggs with it, breakfast isn't going to be served. He's arrogant. He knows he is powerful and that causes him to belittle the people around him. He believes that others won't be able to challenge him. Due to this, he takes risks he normally wouldn't. Fights opponents he shouldn't be engaging with. So if one were to take him head on and he was aware of it, the ego has a right to be arrogant. However, he is easy to catch off guard and manipulate.
The Memories are also a large part of his weakness. Because they conflict, because they send out different signals, they can trip him up. Conflicting urges and desires make it so he can't function well, and it will stall him. He also believes the Memories aren't a detriment to him, but only a good thing. They, however, have their own agendas. Unlike some Noahs he hasn't merged with the Memory into a single being. He is still a separate entity and that does hinder his potential.
All Noahs are weak to Innocence, but in reverse Innocence is weak to Noah Dark Matter. It is like fire and water that they don't mix well. Damage by Innocence leaves permanent scars and is one of the sure ways to kill them.
As for day to day skills, Tyki is prone to wanderlust. He doesn't like to sit in one place long. This also makes him susceptible to getting lost. He can traverse to a location and have no idea on how to get back if he isn't paying attention. He also has survival cooking skills at best. A meal to last from day to day, but definitely nothing gourmet.
Lastly, one can argue Tyki's own laziness is a weakness. It takes quite a lot to motivate him. He won't save the world unless it benefits him. He won't take precautions unless he feels he absolutely must. While the Earl's influence has made him a little sharper and more of a planner, it is still not his strong point in any sense of the word.
Unique World Traits:
Items brought:
* His cursed poker chip
* The clothes on his back
* A regular poker deck
Noah's Ark
The Ark has the ability to move through space and create doorways to different location. It itself is a pocket dimension with many rooms and places to hide and research. Some rooms were hidden long ago by their creators. However, the Ark can only be controlled by a select few. These are, in canon, the Earl and the Fourteenth. However, it is not inconceivable that a magician of high ability could learn to use the Ark. If possible, it might be interesting to have this start of as hidden first and people can stumble upon it. Tyki himself probably won't be too interested in it even if it does show up.
Akuma - Level 1
Machines created by the Millennium Earl. They are powered by souls of the dead brought back by those who loved them and made a deal with the Earl to bring them back. They evolve over time. Their first stage is a round ball, grotesque and able to shoot bullets made of their blood. Anyone who touches it will turn to dust and their only means of destruction is by a weapon made of Innocence (or a holy weapon to broaden the scope) or a Noah's order of self destruction.
