Bastion- so late Friday it's technically Saturday

Jaina had stayed out late on the roof, thinking, and meditating, and trying to find any other way out of this situation than the one that wouldn't leave her head.

By the time she got back to the room it was the middle of the night. The lights in the room were off so she was very careful to be quiet, even though she knew for a fact Jag wouldn't be able to sleep for all the overthinking. She toed off her boots, and then climbed into bed next to him, wrapping an arm around him and feeling a little better when she felt his hand grasp hers.

They stayed like that for what felt like a very long time before Jaina said, "Do it."

He shifted a little so that he could turn and look at her better. "What?"

"Talk to Reige. You're going to have to go through with it."

He paused, and said, "You had a lot of good arguments earlier."

"I know. And they're valid," she replied. "But I keep looking at this and trying to find a way out it, and this is the only outcome I can see that makes sense. It's like we stumbled upon a shatterpoint, and if we do nothing, people die and we end up in yet another war anyway. Or we cut it off now and make sure it doesn't happen ever." Or at least until Sia's time, not that she knew that. And even if she did know that... two and a half generations of peace wasn't anything to complain about.

"And you're okay with doing this?"

"No. But it has to be done," Jaina said, sighing. "You were right."

He moved to slip an arm around her and pull her closer. "I wish I wasn't."

[NFB, NFI, OOC okay. This is like ten years in the making, la la la.]
