The peeling is normal. Unfortunately, it also makes you sensitive to sunlight, so if you use cream with retinol in it during the day, you should also be putting on a moisturizer with sunblock in it (SPF15 will do nicely).
Diet. Starting one next week myself, so I will be sympathizing with you on the hunger thing...
It's the Retinol that causes the skin to peel. I believe the idea is that the top layer of skin is peeled off leaving fresher looking skin below. Good advice about the sunblock. :)
Thank you both for your help. I suppose I was surprised at how aggressive and quick it was to work. Used to a face cream taking weeks or months before you see any visible results!
