Well folks, I just got back from my evening visit with Dr. Filk. He continues to recover fairly well considering: broken ribs, fibula, and foot bones

Query if Canada offers worker's comp, in light of the lack of need for medical coverage

actually Dan -- we have workers comp but that's for injury on the job. John would have been eligible for vehicle insurance wage loss and pain and suffering and rehab etc through ICBC (our govt insurance comp for vehicles)

He might also have been eligible for Canada Pension Disability and Employment Insurance sick benefits....

but, now, his only eligibility is to the family for his loss (insurance will make an offer - or they can use a lawyer to fight for higher compensation) and a Canada Pension payment to the family to contribute to
