[She's been hearing about 'Christmas shopping' and all this talk about getting gifts for others for the holiday and the like, it's new to her but.. she feels like she should join in as well.

It is a Western holiday that encourages one to show one's gratitude and appreciation of others by way of offering gifts. It is also a time to gather with those with whom one is close.

[He's not too charmed by the materialistic aspect of it (crowds of shoppers can be vicious), nor the fact that one does not need a labeled day to find reason to show thanks to another. But the spirit of generosity is rather nice - and he often liked being among Lupin and Jigen on Christmas eve, basking in the wake of a successful heist and enjoying a quiet celebration.]
