Perhaps you should try private, one on one RP. Or maybe start out with a character you can slip inti naturally.

but I think one on one RP might be best for you, you can really get a feel for a character that way, and improve on your skills.

Find an RP partner to play with to improve your skills. Everyone has to start somewhere correct?

Yeah, it's never easy being rejected from anywhere, but instead of making it out to be a bad thing, turn it into a learning experience. Ask the mods what you can do to improve your writing skill or make your application better. Then take their constructive crit and build on it. One key thing to remember is to not take the constructive crit personally. It's not an insult, they are trying to help.
