How did you get started in the first place? Were you always a runner, or did you start as an adult?
I half-assedly ran cross-country in high school and hated it, and never did it again... but so many of my 40-year-old pals are picking it up via Couch-to-5K and are addicted. I do plenty of walking, but I haven't felt particularly inspired to run.
i've been noticing these patterns in other areas - like eating habits. Takes me a while to get excited about eating salads but, once I'm in it I CAN"T WAIT to get some good greens! I wonder if this momentum gaining and losing isn't more the norm than we think... : )
I ran competetive track and cross country as a schoolboy, but I did it for social reasons. It's not until adulthood that I've come to really love running.
