So some memos have turned up regarding the Bush admin, which seems to point to treason on the part of Bush and his posse. here is an article about it. What do ya'll think? Discuss damnit!http://www.
Ok, I read the actual memo, didn't really understand most of it. Here are my favorite quotes:
"A number of OLC opinions issued in 2002-2003 advanced a broad assertion of the President's Commander in Chief power that would deny Congress any role in regulating the detention, interrogation, prosecution, and transfer of enemy combatants captured in the global War on Terror."
"The general rule of construction that statues will not be interpreted to conflict with the President's constitutional authorities absent a clear statement that Congress intended to do so is unremarkable and fully consistent with longstanding precedents of this Office."
"The President's power to suspend treaties is wholly discretionary, and may be exercised whenever he determines that it is in the national interest to do so."
I don't know that this is definitely indicates treason, or that they were trying for a coup d'etat, but it's a little terrifying.
the lack of publicity and the forum the author has chosen to spread this information take away a lot of its credibility. you could argue that the media has been bought out, but since when have they had any qualms about using their influence against bush
