I don't think that behaving or believing irrationally makes anyone crazy, just human.

Anyway, in my experience, truly crazy people (I'm talking schizophrenic crazy) may have moments of lucidity but have very little sense of their insanity when it's actively happening. When I had my fits of craziness, I didn't even stop to THINK about what was happening, much less consider the sanity of my state.

I guess to put it another way, it depends on one's idea of crazy and of normal. Is crazy defined from an objective point of view, or as something not belonging to social convention? Is normal something that is within the (objective?) definition of logic, or is it something that falls within social convention? Are the two terms opposites ( ... )

I think I'm insane, therefore I'm probably the most normal person on the planet.
I recognize some of my insanity, but mostly I behave in a rational manner (except when I don't).
When the insanity that I don't recognize gets pointed out to me, it kind of scares the crap out of me because I didn't recognize it, which makes me worry that I really am insane.
