So, the industry minister has said that the CRTC has to either reverse their decision, or he'll do it for them. Could this be classified as a bitch-slap to the CRTC?
It could also be classified as bitch slap by proxy to the greedy shit-stains at Rogers, Bell, Kosher-Co (cogeco), and all the other guilty, greedy parties.
In this country, basic cost of living (that is, excluding all luxuries), has been increasing faster than average income since 1976. A good chunk of that increased cost has been increased utilities costs, and increased financial services costs. IOW, the utilities companies, and especially the banks, have been soaking us a little more every year. Sooner or later there has to be a breaking point.

If by relativly minor you mean sweeping legislation forcing DSL providers country-wide that service millions of Canadians to adopt billing practices they DO NOT WANT TO USE at the behest of a single incumbant (Bell) that will ultimatly serve to stifle any and all competition for high speed internet because by law no DSL wholesalers will be able to offer better plans to their customers than Bell has.Consider how long it takes for real issues like Omar Khadr or copyright amendments that would actually affect every Canadian rather than a

My hats off to the guy who thought this one up - I know it's not Harper - he's devious enough to pull this but simply not that clever.
