...there wasn't a problem with the code that was written initially. I just posted without the brackets, because i didn't care to look up the escape code for them.
The problem is that I'm trying to access files uploaded to my comcast space, but the only access address they give is using the format shown above, which is an 'https://' address, which means that if i'm trying to point to something like an mp3 to use it on MySpace with the media playing code you hooked me up with, it prompts everyone who views the page to enter my comcast user id and p/w.
I used to be able to access things uploaded on comcast a few years back, but i can't remember what address i was using to point to. Unfortunately, I think the problem is that the old format is obsolete, and they've changed things due to copyright protection and what not.
