We were talking about the Roslin/Adar affair over at
rememberlaura, and I thought I'd put this part of an early script version of "Epiphanies" up. Obviously, some things changed.
Enjoy!

I would have loved a cut of "Barbara" smiling at her bit on the side and saying "we have more time than I thought. I knew they couldn't resist celebrating her win." Fade to black as she hangs up the phone.

Hee--I just imagine this was a first draft, and then a "beta" got to it and it turned into the whole strike story!
OMG, I love your idea about a scene like that with "Barbara" Adar! Hee! Love how your mind works.

I’m lost without you “Roz”. Not just in work, in my life. You make me feel so centered and strong.
Such awkward, terrible writing! Oh, no!
Also, I think if they'd had "this", then her never grieving/mentioning him would have made it feel ret-conned.

Help me, I've fallen over from the bad and I can't get up!
This was wonderful fun - thanks for posting it.

LOLOL! They didn't use it, they didn't use it! It's so interesting to see how a story starts and how it can become something better.
I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing this. :)

I would not have minded the scene between them in a hotel room, but I would have minded very much had the word "love" actually been exchanged between them. (I also feel like the two actors did not have the greatest of chemistry, IMHO)
How do I feel about Laura having an affair with a married man? She isn't perfect, she isn't Miss Goody Good. And you know what? I love that about her. She is an endlessly fascinating and complex woman, with a history that is equal parts dark and light. I don't judge her for her decisions, nor do I hold any of them against her.

Oh, I know!
It would've been different - in a good way, I think - to imagine Laura loving and being loved right up until the attacks came.
This is really interesting to think about--it's so different from how Laura is so often portrayed (totally closed off).
