There has of late been a certain lack of ease between them, insofar as anyone is ever at ease in his presence. The once easy warmth of Ali's smiles has cooled amid the worry that floods her eyes. But still, she has made no attempts to limit his access to her children, and she remains as easily found as ever. She has in fact been doing her own work in a nursery, and when Dream finds her, she's sorting a pile of adorable baby clothes into piles. The twins lay in their cribs, meanwhile, watching the almost hypnotic kinetic sculptures on the walls.

When Dream arrives, Cateline heralds his arrival with a coo, wriggling around to stare into the mirror.

He doesn't smile, exactly, but he is making an effort to appear genial.

Ali tenses briefly, then very slowly finishes folding the dress she's holding and putting it down. Cateline takes advantage of her mommy's delay to coo again and reach out to Morpheus--somebody wants attention!

"That is well." With a glance to Ali to see if she'll object, he steps out of the mirror to pick Cateline up. "I trust I am not interrupting?"
