They really destroyed Deadpool. Really. REALLY. Badly. Other places are just... wtf too?
Ignoring the story, the special effects were godawful... the Wolverine exploring his claws scene? They don't even look like metal in the CGI >\
But watching the audience reaction when I was there, especially to the last fight, I realized that movie wasn't made for people who liked the comic storylines and characters... at all.
I was OK with them changing the story to create something that'll fit in the allotted hour-and-a-half timeslot, since fully exploring Wolverine's origins and pre-X-Men past would be enough to fill a three-part epic. I brushed off the Roger Rabbit claw effect in the farmhouse scenes as something that might get cleaned up in a home video release (Maybe? Iunno.). But MAN. Every damned thing about Deadpool ruined it for me.
It's like.. Jeezus Christ. I wanted to punch somebody, after watching that crap.
In the very beginning, I had a feeling I wasn't in the movie's target audience, when the colonel said in a communiqué that "Wade didn't make it," and a girl sitting behind us turned to her boyfriend and whispered "Who's Wade?"
It was made for women that want to see Hugh Jackman in various states of undress.
But what got me aggravated about that part was that they even managed to ruin the explanation of his name!
Deadpool is "Deadpool" because that was the name of the betting pool the inmates @ the workshop had to see who'd die next. I still don't understand how Stryker got "Deadpool" from pooling a set of powers that could intermingle or whatever the hell he said.
NEVER MIND THAT THE WEAPON X PROJECT IS CANADIAN. *sobs sweet nerd tears*
