Based off the
Moon Cycle 67 event, here are some details that can be found within the desert ruins:
✦ secret room
- Castle Mountain Model. The first thing the group will notice will be a large model of what looked to be a mountain floating in the middle of the room. It is five feet high and six feet in diameter. It is not a holograph, and there were no strings attached to it. It is literally floating in the room. There even is an odd light shining down upon it. The mountain is not the same as the floating mountain that can be found hovering around Somarium, but one may easily mistake it for it. Upon closer inspection, characters will notice that it is not just a mountain, but a parts of a castle built within it. Large, elaborate gates on the face of the mountain indicate its entrance.
Characters are free to touch it, but they will not be able to move it. They can try, and it may raise or lower, but it will not move from its location. The same goes for any attempts to try and take a part of it or see if any of its parts can be moved.
- A giant mural. The second thing the group will notice will be a giant mural painting at the very back of the room. The image is unlike they will have ever seen before. It looks almost like a diagram of sorts, with three distinct sections: top, middle, and bottom. Each section is divided by wavy lines.
- Top. At the top is a hollow circle with white clouds and mountains around it. Beneath it are distinct figures of robed people gathered underneath. They surround a strange, almost rainbow colored fountain of waves that appears as if it is erupting from the ground.
- Middle. This "stream" of color flows into the middle portion where a large oval shape is in the center. It almost looks like a well. However, at the bottom of the well is another "stream," but the color grows darker as it approaches the bottom portion.
- Bottom Dark mountains and strange shadowed beasts-beasts that may look eerily familiar for some who have been in Somarium for a while-lie beneath a dark, filled in circle.
Upon closer inspection, some may notice that other shapes encircle the main drawing, and it will be clear what those shapes are: the phases of the moon. Clockwise, the cycle wanes into the dark moon and waxes into the full moon. What could all this mean?
- More diagrams. Along the other walls, more diagrams of strange shapes and figures will be found. Depictions of people sleeping with strange images above their heads. Images of squares and pillars with strange swirls within them and people walking out. Different colored circles connected with different colored lines. Anything that is brightly colored tended to be more positive and cheerful. However, anything that is darkly colored and black depicted something darker. Unnatural beasts and shadows. Death. Figures dressed in white fighting against those dressed in black. Here, one scene in particular may attract some attention. A painting of a familiar looking sinkhole could be found, and it seemed to be dragging in and swallowing small figures of people inside it.
- Broken platform? Somewhere in the corner near the back lay the remains of something that really doesn't look like it belongs. Those who are acquainted with more sci-fi technology might associate it as some kind of platform pad. Those who have been around the lake might find it similar to the teleportation pads that transport people to the floating mountain. Whatever it is, it looks more modern and recent in comparison to everything else. It also looks as if something had deliberately destroyed it. Parts of it lay scattered around. Characters won't be able to move the main base, but they can investigate and take back any of the smaller pieces for further inspection.
- Another room. There is actually another room that is connected to this main room. It is smaller, but it is just as puzzling as the main room, if not more so. All four walls are covered with what looks to be one continuous mural-or map rather. Should one stand at the center of the room and looked around, they would see that lining the top of the walls are clearly images of mountains. The majority of the wall is yellowish in color, but there are odd different colored dots scattered around. They vary in size, from being as large as five inches in diameter, to the size of a ballpoint pen that could easily be mistaken for a speck of dust if not for an odd line and symbol next to it. Some have other lines drawn to each other, some stand in isolation. There are even some black ones, and next to these are strange characters that is clearly writing. These writing characters can also be found by various other colored dots.
Should characters look up at the ceiling, they will find themselves staring at a giant white moon. Should they look down at the floor, they will discover...nothing. Just a floor. (Made you look.)
