Phase: Full moon. Always between the hours of midnight and 3 A.M., the moon seems to be shining brighter than usual.

Weather: There's a sudden change in the temperature. Crisp, cool temperatures, more windy days, and even cooler evenings. It looks like autumn has arrived early in Somarium-or rather, more or less on time considering its past random season changes.

• Revised meme schedules. We mentioned a meme schedule last moon cycle, but we're revising it once again! The dates will remain the same, but the frequency is changing a bit.
  • Pimp My Character. This is basically our "Plot CR with me!" meme. It will run on the 11th of every other month. So the next one should be in October.
    
    
  • Friending. This is your traditional "Let's be OOC friends!" meme. It will run on the 16th of every other month.
    
    
  • HMD. This is your traditional "Give me crit!" meme. It will run on the 21st of every month.
  So basically the HMD is still every month, but the CR and Friending memes will be every other month.
  
  
• Other reminders.
  1. AC changes proposal. We recently posted some details about the proposed future AC changes. So far we're getting positive responses, but we'd still welcome any input!
     
     
  2. Crack community. Another reminder about the Crack Community. Looking at the polls right now, it looks like it may be a go, but we'll wait until the end of the week before making it final. If the majority still wins, then the Crack Community will launch in September.
• Wait it's autumn? Did we say there were a few weeks of summer left? More like a few days. Even though the temperatures had been gradually getting cooler, when characters wake up on that first day of full moon week, they'll find leaves already changing color and falling, brisk winds, and cooler temperatures greeting them. It's still early in the season, but it's clear that summer has come to an end and autumn is pushing its way in.
  
  
• Fall fashion. Of course this means that the stores will be stocked with autumn and even some winter clothing. If you don't want to catch a cold, better get some new outfits if you don't have the appropriate clothing!
  
  
• Festival Schedule: Here's the schedule for the week! Even though we have it listed by days, players are welcome to backdate their posts. Players are also welcome to help out and create open ones for a specific event.
  
  Also, there will be no signal post for this, so just start posting at your leisure once Monday hits.
  • Throughout the Week:
    Farmers’ Market. Many of the locals have set up stalls selling their goods. Come see the variety of home-grown produce as well as hand-crafted items such as blankets, clothes, jewelry, etc. As well, many are selling baked goods and food items such as pies, jellies, and just about anything you can think of.
    
    Apple Picking. Looking for a little something different? Why not stop by the orchards and pick your own apples. Stop by for apple-related products such as apple cider and apple butter as well.
    
    Corn Maze. An all-time favourite, no? Bigger and better, this one also boasts a bit of a surprise. Why yes. Those are scarecrows that are wandering around in there so be prepared for a bit of a scare. We assure you that they’re harmless, though.
    
    Festival Games. Now a festival isn’t complete without games now, is it? Come and share in the fun and perhaps even win a prize. Go wild.
    
    Pumpkin Carving. What better activity to participate in than pumpkin carving? Get in some practice now and by Halloween your carving skills will be through the roof.
    
    
  • Monday:
    Wheelbarrow Racing. What a way to kick off the festivities, no? Go ahead and find yourself a wheelbarrow and partner and see if you have what it takes to win the coveted first place trophy.
    
    Pie Eating Contest. Fancy yourself the best at this? Come find out.
    
    Food Fight. Remember that pie-eating contest? Yeah. So does one of the natives. Apparently someone was accused of cheating during it and an NPC threw food first. Watch yourself as now throughout the rest of the day, there will be NPCs lurking around, throwing food at people.
    
    
  • Tuesday:
    Mini Rodeo. Ever fancied yourself to be a cowboy? Come and find out if you have what it takes.
    
    Alpaca and Llama Rides. For those who don’t think they have quite what it takes to be a cowboy but still wish to feel the cowboy spirit, there’ll be alpaca rides available for those of all ages.
    
    
  • Wednesday:
    Face Painting. This is a one day only event. Ever wanted to see what your face would look like painted as a mongoose? A dragon? Nessie? Let your imagination run wild and let the face-painting artist make your fantasy reality.
    
    Dress the Llama or Alpaca. …don’t ask. But even llamas and alpacas want to feel pretty sometimes. Why don’t you come and help them. (After all that riding, it’s nice to pamper them.)
    
    
  • Thursday and Friday:
    Bonfires. On these two days there will be a bonfire get-togethers after dark. Come say hello and mingle with the natives and each other. Make s’mores and eat hotdogs and share in stories.
    
    
  • Friday:
    Obstacle Courses. A fun activity for young and old. Grab a partner and sign up in teams of two to compete against one another to see who the best is. There will be two different courses, however, one for the adults and one for the youth/teens.
    
    Concert in the Park. Come and enjoy an evening of lovely folk music as provided by the natives. It’s a truly wonderful experience.
    
    
  • Saturday:
    Chilli Cook-off. You heard that right. Fancy yourself a master of the chilli? Come and find out how you stand against others.
    
    Hayrack Rides. Throughout the late afternoon and early evening, locals will begin offering hayrack rides around the village. A nice way to sit and have some fun while mingling with others.
    
    Barn Dance. And you thought that chilli cook-off was for the fun of it. Well, it mostly was but that chilli cooked earlier and judged is showing up again at the barn dance since no barn dance is complete without chilli (and hot dogs). Grab yourself a date (or just dancing partner) and try your hand at some local folk dance as well.
    
    
  • Sunday:
    Hospital/Wheeled Bed Racing. Grab yourself a bed with wheels and let’s race downhill. Don’t forget to wear a helmet, though, as those things are a bit hard to steer.
    
    Paper Lanterns. Instead of fireworks this year, everyone will have the chance to release floating paper lanterns into the night sky. Everyone will have the chance to make their own before the event and pre-made ones are available for those who do not wish to craft their own. The event is hosted by the Host Club. • Special appearance? Something special will happen at the end of the event, so keep a look out for that!
  
  
• Player plots. Looks like we got a few big player plots that deserve a mention! So these are just more for your information. Any IC announcement regarding these plots will come from the participating players themselves, not us.
  • Hone Your Skills: Sephiroth. Are you a fighter or have a special ability or skill that could aid in protecting Somarium? Want to hone in on your skills and actually put them to good use? Then see Sephiroth and sign-up!
    
    
  • New Recruits: Police Force. Congratulations to everyone who made it into the Police Force. Though it's probably just in time.
    
    
  • Murder: Franziska von Karma. During the Police Banquet, the prosecutor Franziska von Karma was murdered. More details about this particular murder plot can be found here. A certain homunculus is on the hunt for wombs. Who will be her next victim?
    
    
  • Eye for an Eye: Muraki. WARNING: May be a little on the squick side. Muraki is out to try out some experimentation for research on how to create an eye. Or take it. Details can be found here.

  We decided to post these here so everyone can see what else is going on in the game, particularly since these involve quite a few characters and may become public later. Before jumping into any of these plots make sure you speak with the respective players. We're just OOCly advertising, and we may try to do this more often in the future if the timing works out and players like it.
