He was sneaking around, embracing the underworld to where he was permanently obliged to dwell should he want to retain his mobility. Therefore, he was hiding in the rabbit fountain when a very familiar ex-subordinate materialized on a bench near the rabbit fountain.
Yet someone else from Amestris. Depending on what that human had seen or heard, the Homunculus guessed he might cause trouble if he revealed himself prematurely. Therefore, he pulled out his drenched eyepatch from his waterlogged coat and pulled it over his eye.
"A good day to you, Armstrong," the eyepatch-wearing old man greeted from just under the water. Prior to emerging partially from the water, he made certain that there were no enemies in the vicinity.
Wrath read Armstrong's signal.. that it was wrong for him to be complacent with the amount of time that he had spent here, in this different dimension.
"I need to retire." Weary tone. "Affairs back home are better left to you young people."
"I-If you say so sir." Really, he's still going with his first idea of all that being a wacky dream. After all, if Bradley himself is there for five months, it's not possible he had been transported to this place. He just saw the Fuhrer three days ago or so.
"Speaking of home, I suppose it's no easy task coming back, right?"
He was satisfied that the human did not question his logic any further.
"You suppose right, Major. Whoever or whatever is ruling this world decides when it sees fit for us to leave," he informed, his eye fixed steady up on him. Matter-of-fact, nothing threatening or ominous.
Now that was problematic. That sure wasn't the time to be fooling around at some kind of crazy dreamland. There were important matters back home that needed a resolve, and even if Armstrong wasn't being that much of help, at the moment, he was trying to figure out a connection between the recent events. How was he supposed to do that if he were to get stuck into that place?
"Either way, I think it won't hurt to try and look for some sort of exit." The worst that could happen was finding no way out, and that was already pretty much established, so, no harm in trying.

"Suit yourself," Bradley stated neutrally. Strange how Armstrong was so eager to dive back into the fray, considering...well, perhaps his current boldness was compensating for that earlier cowardice. "If you find your way home, give my regards to the Colonel," he said, not without insinuation.
Mostly, he was worried about everyone's safety. After what happened to Hughes, and some other recent events, Armstrong grew weary of things surrounding him and the others. he just didn't want more bad things happening and more people dying.
That tone intrigued him though. Still, he wasn't sure if he should confront Bradley about that. Didn't really sound like the wisest option at the moment though, all things considered. He just got to that place and he was still getting used to his surroundings. Armstrong would have the time to question that later on.
"I'll keep that in mind." He said with a serious tone to his voice. " ow if you excuse me sir." He nodded and turned to leave, hoping the older man wouldn't stop him or something.
Yes, good for him to leave that for later on. Wrath wanted to be left alone, for the past not to have bearing on the present. And that wouldn't be able to happen if he permitted Armstrong to know--that it was Envy who killed Hughes, that he was complicit in it by the virtue of simply knowing about it. Or about the other cover-ups, deceits that the Homunculi had perpetrated. He had revealed this to the younger Elric brother who was disturbed by it but ultimately did nothing, could do nothing. However, Wrath didn't trust Armstrong to simply accept it. He let Armstrong take his leave without a word, therefore, with the intention of letting all of the secrets and skeletons in the closet be buried in the past where they should be.
