[To say Eridan hadn't been brooding in his room all day would be the farthest from the truth. He had been pretty torn up since the conversation with Karkat, not to mention all that former enthusiasm he had towards his return just made it worse.]
[And then those accusations? Like he'd EVER kill Fef, like come on. So fucking absurd! How retarded do you even have to be to come up with such poppycock! And the accusing alone wouldn't have bothered him near as much as it is, had it not been for a past conversation with Sollux that had lead to a fight. He lets out a sigh when he hears Kanaya at his door. Looking at it with a bored look, the expression trying to hide what would otherwise give away his depression and brooding.]
[He doesn't get up to answer the door, it's unlocked so he remains laying on his bed in a somewhat dramatic pose, head slightly hanging off the side of it.]
[Kanaya opens the door, and... that pose cannot possibly be comfortable. Is he laying like that just hoping someone would come in and see him, and appreciate all his inner torment?
Oh, Eridan. The entire world is your audience, isn't it?
Working hard to stifle a giggle, she lets herself in and quietly shuts the door behind her.]
How are you?
[Is there really any point in bringing up why she's asking this? He obviously knows that some of their friends are back, hence the dramatic pose and tortured bearing. Yes, she can see through the facade; she knows he isn't bored.]
[Maybe he was, maybe he was waiting for you to come in and meddle with him a little, so you could see him sprawled like this, like some drama student being overly dramatic in some tragic role, trying to wrench the hearts of the viewers, Kanaya.]
[Maybe, you alone are his audience.]
[...That's how it feels sometimes.]
I'm fuckin' GRAND. How're you?
[Just gonna play along, doot doot, totally not hurt or anything, totally not upset that Karkat doesn't remember a THING about their relationship. Nope! He's perfectly fine. He has CONTROL over these EMOTIONS and FEELINGS. Yep.]
[Pushing your cape out of the way now so she can sit on the edge of the bed. It was kind of impressive the way he got it to billow so perfectly, really.]
So by now I'm sure you've found out that some of our friends have arrived in Somarium.
[The thought of Eridan, alone in his hive, practicing moving his cape around so it lay in the most dramatic fashion, would make Kanaya sad... if she thought of it. But she doesn't, so onward!]
Who have you talked to so far? I had a rather unpleasant conversation with Vriska earlier today, myself.
[At this point, he's sitting up, turning quickly to face her. That look of anger warping his features into a glower as he starts.]
He said I killed... Fef... and our friends, he didn't specify anyone other than Fef. Which, I may add, is BULL fuckin' SHIT. Like I'd EWER FUCKIN' DO THAT!
I'm trying to figure out the timeline. I think we must have come to Somarium from roughly the same point, but I'm trying to make sure.
Here, I'll go first. The last thing I remember is being in the computer room. This wasn't long after Aradiabot exploded. I'd just spoken to Karkat, and told him something important, and I was getting ready to leave to go deeper into the asteroid. I stepped on the transportalizer, and... I woke up in a field in Somarium.
I had just got the wand from you and I was returnin' to the main room, when I stepped on the transportalizer myself, and I showed up here in the middle a the street.
I definitely didn't fuckin' KILL anyone, I didn't ewen fuckin' blind Sol. They're all a bunch a dramawhorin' liars.

Come in, Kan.

[Might as well get right to it.]

Yeah. Yeah I know they're here.
[Is that the slightest hint of hurt in his tone? Yep. Oh and the cape? It's merely sweeps of practice.]

Karkat.
[No shortening of the name here. Nope.]

I've talked to Karkat too; I don't think we're from the same points on the timeline. What did he tell you?
[Did he tell you that, sometime in the future, you're going to murder your moirail? She hopes he didn't let that little bon mot spill.]

[He grows silent, thinking this over a bit.]
He doesn't remember our kismesisitude. And he's spreadin' lies like wildfire.
[His tone is as flat as he is blunt.]

[She's guessing it's the same thing he told her, based on Eridan's reaction, but she waits for confirmation.]

Reaching out and lightly touching his knee.]
I know, I know. He told me some pretty upsetting things too.
[Pause.]
What's the last thing you remember from the Veil?

... Why?

And before you get angry, I'm not accusing you of anything! I just want to know.
