rising waters

Jun 25, 2011 13:24

The rain had continued to pour non-stop for twenty-four hours, worsening during the late night hours. By mid-morning, those who were awake would discover the streets already flooded by almost a foot of the strange, dark water-as well as the houses and all other buildings ( Read more... )

[Draco does not look happy. He's curled up in a small ball on the roof of the church, casting charms at the rising water to keep it away from him, but it's clear that it's been failing a bit. Poor thing's soaked and nearly hysterical.]

I do believe this might be worse than when this place turned into a bloody jungle.

Help.

[Draco's free hand stretches out, as if he could somehow save Mille from a watery fate, when the older man falls; he lets go of a breath he knew quite well he'd been holding when Mille resurfaces, still reaching out slightly as Harry manoeuvres them out of the face of danger.]

[Mille watches as the boy leaves before turning back to the creature as he grabs his broom out of the water and rises in to the air again.]

Now, big boy. Let's play. [Jumping high into the air, he buries several feathers into the tentacles. These burst into flame as well but more so that before. In fact, the water doesn't seem to be getting rid of the flame at all. No sooner does it begin than it ends with the fire bursting into the shape of a red bird spreading its wings. Panting, he smiles as he wipes away some blood from the corner of his mouth then goes to check on his boys now that the creature can't follow them.]

Harry is not checking Mille out :| sonuvasnitch June 27 2011, 19:59:21 UTC
[ Once they were a safe distance away, Harry turned the broom so he could watch the battle and make sure that Mille is okay. No questions there Mille is perfectly capable of taking care of himself. He definitely earned some points of respect from Harry, not to say he didn't have those points before, but the ante had definitely been upped. ]

Mille are you alright?

sure he is. :| mudbloodhater June 27 2011, 20:02:01 UTC
[at least this gives Draco a bit of an idea as to how he'll react during the war: instead of watching, like Harry is, he has his face buried in Harry's shoulder, breathing nearly hyperventilation with panic and nerves. It doesn't even matter that Mille is capable of taking care of himself.]

[He smiles at Harry as he lets his armor fade away for now. Really he's acting like he's just fine.]

Come on. We need to get somewhere high up.

[Yes, Harry. He did just ignore your question.]

[ Trust me Harry noticed, but he's smart enough to recognize now is not the time to check for injuries and the sooner they get out of there the sooner they can. ]

Do you know where we can go?

Is solid ground not an option? [he's maybe a tad broomsick. Maybe that's just the adrenalin and nerves getting to him, though. His tone is muffled as he mumbles into Harry's shoulder still.]

A Somni rooftop. The flood hasn't reached them. Follow me. [Swinging his broomstick around, he flies off in that direction, leading Harry higher up in the air so nothing can reach them from the water.]

[ Harry follows more than willing to get away from the rising water. Had he known those things were in there he wouldn't have stayed as close as he had. ]

[for a Quidditch player, Draco sure is terrified of heights right now; Harry will probably have bruises later from how tightly he's being clung to.]

[Mille wastes no time in getting them to the roof then getting off the broom so he can go help to pry Draco off of Harry.]

[ Harry lands and looks back at Draco. ]

You alright?

[ Yeah he knows your soaked and terrified, but other than that how are you doing? ]

I'm alive. [again, muttered into Harry's shoulder. Give him a minute.

[Still trying his best not to hyperventilate as he removes himself from Harry, Draco stumbles a bit as he regains himself, then promptly drops into a crouch, head between his knees as he tries not to vomit.]

[He's still acting fine as he goes to rub Draco's back.]

Take some deep breaths. You're safe now. [For now anyway.]

[ Harry casts a quick glance at Mille because really, he's fallen from Merlin knows how many stories from a broom onto hard ground and he remembers how much that hurt, the water couldn't have been much better. Still seeing how Mille is taking care of Draco... ]

Mille, what about you, are you alright?
