[Oh man, what is this? You'd think, living in the middle of a desert, things like this wouldn't happen.]

[But it clearly is happening, and Kanaya had heeded the warnings, had gotten everything ready to evacuate and retreat ahead of the rising waters... but then Gamzee had gone missing. And she's pretty sure he can swim, but he's also an idiot, and she's not going to just leave him behind.]

[So instead of being somewhere safe, she's sitting in a tree, bedraggled and soaked and miserable and not a little scared.]

[ Rose had somehow managed to get Gamzee and his high-as-a-kite self to safety atop the safe point in the city. Now she had backtracked into the village once again, helping whomever was in dire need and eventually coming upon the familiar troll in the trees just as she was about to take her leave.

Still using her magic she moved to hover in front of Kanaya, her feet just barely grazing over the branch. ]

Hello, Kanaya. Do you need assistance?

[Well, this is certainly not how she would have wanted their second meeting to go. However, even while soaking wet and trapped in a tree, Kanaya somehow manages to act dignified.]

Hello, Rose. Yes, I believe I could do with a little assistance.

I don't suppose I should ask how you managed to get yourself stuck in this tree to begin with, should I?

[ There might be the makings of a small smirk on her lips as she says this, then she slowly offers a hand out to the troll. ]

I would rather you didn't.

[Kanaya reaches up and takes Rose's hand.]

Have you found any of the others yet?

I'll try my best to hold my tongue for the time then.

[ And while still balancing herself with use of her magic, she uses it, too, to aid her in lifting Kanaya out of the tree and into her arms. ]

One of your own akin to a clown, seemingly unawares of the raging storm and rolling waves through the village. He spoke of motherfuckers and miracles, among other things.

[She means, oh, so the human Rose is assisting her, and just so happens to have her arms around her. No big thing, this, no big thing at all.

And she's only putting her arms around Rose's neck for balance and stability. That's all. Balance and stability.]

Miracles and... that would be Gamzee you found, then. Good, I was worried about him. He's not the smartest that trollkind has to offer.

[And she's totally going to have to thank him for wandering off later, if it led to this experience.]

Can I safely assume that there is a rescue attempt underway for the others, then?

[ Meanwhile, Rose is unaware of the mental flailing the troll may be doing at the moment, because she clearly has other things on her mind. As always.

As much as she is use to literal hell and high water, she is soaked to the bone, likely to catch cold after all this nonsense, and clearly not in the best of moods. But when is she ever?

The comment about Gamzee not being smart causes her to snort lightly though, ] I hadn't the slightest idea. He seemed perfectly intelligent and wise to me. Spiritual, in a sense, with his talk of miracles and constant dazed stare.

[ When Kanaya is settled, Rose actually sets her foot on the branch the other girl was on previously. using it as leverage to spring up and back into the air. Needless to say, the next thing she utters is pretty much a given; ] Hold on tight.

[No worries about that, Rose; Kanaya is clinging to you like a monkey. She's not fond of heights or water, and the two combined has her in a state of vague terror.]

[Instead, she's going to focus on her rescuer; maybe if she chatters away at her, she won't notice how frightened and uncomfortable she is.]

You're soaked, Rose. When we land, let me give you a raincoat. I have one in my sylladex.

[ She noticed, as it's rather hard not to when Kanaya is holding on for dear life. She doesn't bother addressing it though. As most are not use to rising waters and storms of this magnitude, so she can't really blame her. ]

That tends to happen when one is out in torrential downpours, and a raincoat seems to be rather superfluous at this point, but I appreciate the offer.

I can give you some dry clothes as well. I have those too. I would hate for you to catch ill on account of being brave and rescuing all of us.

[Face buried in the side of Rose's neck, so her words are a little muffled.. This is scary, okay?]

You keep a change of clothes in your sylladex along with a raincoat? Dare I ask what other nonessentials you've smuggled along with you?

[ She just continues on toward the safe point, holding the other girl close for the remainder of the journey. Any attempts at being comforting are pretty much fruitless because this is Rose we're talking about here. ]

We're close now. Please keep your hands and feet inside the magical glowing bubble until we are safely inside the building.

I have all sorts of things in my sylladex! Please, let me give you some dry clothes and a raincoat; it's the least I can do.

[Plus she really, really likes the idea of dressing you up, Rose, so be careful; once that door is open, there's no shutting it.]

[Okay, going to land now, she takes it? Not that she has any idea how far they've traveled, being that she's trying awfully hard to not look down or open her eyes in any way.]

All right. [ and that's really all there is to say on the matter. She doesn't really want to argue about this, and there's no reason to pretend she wants to sit around looking like a wet cat for however long they're stuck here.

Great. She gets to become a barbie doll for a troll. At least it's Kanaya. She can handle that.

And yes, they land carefully and head inside. Once the door is shut behind her and they're out of the rain, Rose glances down to the girl in her arms that's still hiding up against her. ] Kanaya. We're here.
