Note: He's from late PH canon and it's quite spoiler-y, so if you really care about that I'd suggest not tagging this.
Perhaps the remains left of the flood is something that would have normally caught any arrival's (completely new or not) eyes, but Leo has never been one to care about such things. And he's definitely not going to now. In fact, he doesn't even at first notice that he's back in Somarium, because what is burned into his vision hardly leaves room for that.
Elliot, in a pool of blood, skin pale and eyes lifeless and blood blood blood so much blood and-- He had just come to-- Why--
Why did he pass out? Why could he do nothing right?!
His throat is tight for a moment, lips slowly parting as he stares without seeing what's in front of him, still too caught up in that image. And when the tightness loosens, when something drops from inside his throat, there's a shrill scream, the loudest that has ever left his lips no matter how much he might have wanted to scream. It lasts until he can't scream any longer, until his breath runs out.
And then he scrambles up, but quickly falls to his knees while tripping over what is definitely not a smooth floor even if it should be, and he finally registers - gasping for breath - where he is.
...Somarium.
Immediately, he fumbles for the Dreamberry as memories come rushing back, of people he doesn't really know but yet does and of things that has happened and of Elliot and he knows, knows that if Elliot is really dead then this is the only place he will ever be able to see him again--
Please, please let Elliot be here is the only thought that rushes through his mind as he searches through the Dreamberry to call him. If he can't... if he can't call then it means. Then it means that Elliot isn't here anymore. And that's that. That's... that.
That's that.
Because Elliot isn't here. He's... not here.
But maybe that's for the best, because Leo would just ruin his life again if he was, wouldn't he? Because that's all he can do, all he can...
Slowly, he pushes himself onto his feet and starts wandering. What... A few blinks through his bangs (his glasses, he lost his glasses, but he doesn't... want them anyway, since Elliot gave them to him-- it would hurt too much). What happened here? It doesn't look at all like he remembers.
Maybe he should... find someone and ask. The main town, maybe..?
Not that he really cares. What matters anymore?
