The Doctor wouldn't have to hope for long. Always eager to lend a helping hand; and more so wishing to repay this world for its goodness so far; Larsa had decided to take upon himself to assist the Doctor in any way that he could with his project. Especially with the General promoting a corps that would focus on wellness and protection- it seemed that as a member, aiding a medical function that would heal people was indeed a worth cause.

So, making his way to the front door of the clinic, Larsa knocked gently and politely.

Larsa instantly pinkened. No one had corrected or questioned his use of the words 'Hume' so far, and he'd come to think it was universal. Embarrassed, he explained quickly, "We are Hume. It is the name for our race, in my world. Excuse me... it was thoughtless to use it and assume you knew."

Still feeling sheepish from his slip up, it surprised him when his mind caught up with what the Doctor was saying. "Take... my eye? But wouldn't that be... dreadful?" Even if it could be replaced, the process sounded less than appetizing.

"I see. It's human, in mine." In English, anyway. Every language had their own word and Muraki decided not to get into the differences. It seemed like Larsa's world was far smaller than his own, or at least far less diverse in terms of language.

He nodded a moment later. "It would be dreadful for you, but nothing like that would happen unless we had the technology to replace it and you agreed." Maybe Muraki wasn't quite as good as he seemed....

Larsa felt a prickle run up his spine, uncomfortable at what he'd said next. "Even with the consent of someone, that seems awful. Would you truly do that to someone?"

"Not without their consent." He placed a bandage over the gauze on Larsa's arm, threw his gloves away, and pushed a bit of the boy's hair out of his face where it had fallen around his eye. "But awful things have always happened in the name of progress."

When the Doctor pressed his hair back, his heart rate sped up. That motion had nothing to do with medical practice; clearly, as he gloves were now off. Unable to help a frown from tugging at his lips, he quickly searched the older man's expression for any signs of... well, anything. Talking about something like taking an eye so coolly-- that did remind him of Doctor Cid, and not in a fond way.

"...But they shouldn't." He pressed, obviously seeking agreement from him. "Awful things are the reverse of progress." He sat up a little straighter, wondering if he should excuse himself now.

"Everyone learns from awful things, whether we want to admit it or not." He stepped back then, letting Larsa have the chance to leave if he'd wanted. While Muraki hadn't managed to examine him more as originally planned, this still went well enough for him to consider the meeting a success.

"...Not always good lessons." He'd been through a few awful things himself; they were not lessons he would have liked to learn.

Getting up from the chair, he eyed him cautiously. "Are... we done now?" If there was more, he'd hear what it was first before agreeing to it. As it were, he couldn't figure out why he'd needed to dress down for this, now that he thought on it.

"We are. I lost track of what else I'd thought of doing, but it's no concern now. I apologize for making you undress needlessly."

Muraki would let Larsa leave with his wariness intact.

"...All right." Taking up his shirt, he slipped it back on and buttoned quickly. "Thank you for your time, Doctor. Good luck in your research."

Giving a polite nod, he'd head out after that. Whatever that creeping sensation had been, he didn't feel eager to repeat it.
