[Draco Malfoy's mother was in a sleep coma. This really shouldn't have surprised him as much as it did, but it did; Narcissa was supposed to be perfect, impervious to everything around her. Incapable of being anything less than absolutely pristine, like an angel merely ( Read more... )

[ Harry was on patrol. At least that was what he had been doing until he caught sight of a familiar tuft of platinum blond lying in a green field. The kitten was a new addition however. He walked over to Draco, a little wary, since it wasn't quite like the grey-eyed boy to be laying around lying in grass looking at clouds, or at least Harry had never known him to. ]

Hey.

[Draco glances up at the familiar voice. Less up, perhaps, and more...backwards. A small smile tugs at his mouth, but he continues to scratch Lyra's ears.]

Hey.

Fancy finding you here.

[ He smiles softly as he looks down at Draco. ]

Never thought you were the type to get your clothes dirty with grass stains.

Mother's asleep, and Father's too concerned with that to care if I get a little grass stain on one of my shirts. I'm a big boy. [he smirks almost amusedly, almost sadly up at Harry, then nods to the grass.]

You in a hurry?

[ Harry frowns a little. ] Sorry to hear that.

[ He looks back down the path his lips pressing together in that characteristic look he gets when he knows he should be doing something, but an action completely opposite of what he should be doing catches his attention. ]

No, I can stay. [ And this he plops down beside Draco. ]

[once upon a time, Harry would have been mocked for that stubborn streak; now, Draco merely appreciates it. He shifts slightly closer to his boyfriend, sitting up finally, and leaning his head against Harry's shoulder. ]

Do you think Father will suddenly drop off into a blissful slumber next?

[ As Draco moved, Harry turned his head a bit to bump it gently against Draco's forehead. He caught a whiff of Draco's hair which smelled of the blond's shampoo and for once a touch of grass. It actually wasn't a bad smell on the blond and Harry lingered there for awhile before moving just a little to look forward again. ]

Not sure. This place doesn't really put up a warning sign for that sort of thing.

[Draco didn't mind it; it was nice to have pleasant company that wasn't his kitten again.]

That would be nice. A warning sign. Then you wouldn't pass out somewhere inopportune.

[ Or with your clothes off in your boyfriends house for that matter. ]

Probably would be hoping for too much though from this place.

[...yeah, seriously.]

Someone couldn't mock something up? I thought Muggle technology could do anything.

[ Harry smiles in amusement at that. ]

Not really, but they're working on it.

Working on which? Doing anything or mocking up a warning sign?

Getting muggle technology to do anything.

They should work harder, then. If they've got gates that steal people from their worlds, they ought to be able to figure this out.

Technically I'm not sure the people that made this place are the same sort of muggles. The people back home couldn't have thought something like this up, and who knows, maybe the sleep coma's are only something that happens to us.

[ Harry shrugs lightly. He doesn't know if it's true or not, it may just be that the people here have never worried about it. ]

Versus what? I've heard of people in comas back home.

And besides. Isn't a Muggle a Muggle?
