Kotetsu was out and about once more despite his partner's best efforts at keeping him in the apartment. He needed to heal, and he couldn't use his Hundred Power for a quick fix, since it was so unstable and he didn't want to give his secret away just yet. Three minutes… and his powers were still diminishing. There wasn't anything he could do to stop it. He'd only found the courage to say something about it in a confession, right before he passed out and apparently caused everyone to think that he was deadWhat a mess. Barnaby was just how he'd left him, still so far behind in events. He didn't know a thing, and while it was frustrating to hide everything from him like he had before, he knew he had no choice in the matter. The blond was hardly able to accept that Jake had been killed, telling him about Maverick, the brainwashing and memory manipulation, and the fact that he’d shot Kotetsu in the aftermath of their latest fight ( ... )

[Maverick looked shocked at the person who was smiling and walking towards him before calming down and schooling his face back to a calm and collected look. However, inside his head, Maverick was panicking.

He's...He's alive! But how? He was shot by Barnaby! How is he still alive and here?!

What is going on here?]

[He smiled at Kotetsu and greeted him.]Ah! Mr. Wild Tiger. How nice to meet you!

[Oh, that calm, collected bastard. He wants nothing more than to punch him in the face good and hard for everything he's done, everything he's put himself, Barnaby, Kaede and the other Heroes through.

But he can't, and so as much as it's killing him to hold his front up, he does it without a word or a hint at anger. Were this any other person, or were he in any other situation, he'd have patted himself on the back for his cool display at self-restraint, but he can't even do that.

He smiles and takes his hat off. He holds it to his chest in a sign of respect (and he's secretly so pissed about it) and greets him back.]

Mr. Maverick. [This is one of the hardest things he's done, and that says a lot.] Did you just get here?

[Maverick keeps his own emotions in check as he tries to figure out what do. He wasn't expecting to meet him.]

Why yes I did. I woke up on a park bench but I've been trying to figure out where exactly here is and how I got here. Would you know, Wild Tiger?

[And I need to figure out what exactly is going on here.]

[His knuckles turn a little white, and he replaces the hat on his head before he can be seen gripping it like a vice.]

We're in Somarium. We've kind of been kidnapped, and I've been looking for an exit but it's hidden pretty well.

[Maverick moves closer to Kotetsu but stays a comfortable distance away from the hero. Just in case.]

Somarium? I've never heard of a city called that.

An exit? So we simply can't leave this city by car or any other means?

[He doesn't move from where he's standing, but his hand twitches into a fist at his side.]

Nobody has. It's a little off the radar, I think.

[Parallel universes and all that jazz. He shakes his head.]

We might have to wait for the exit to come to us.

[He notices the fist but says nothing. He just calmly smiles at Kotetsu.

After all, Kotetsu wouldn't hit him in public, right?]

Wait for an exit? Well this is most unfortunate. You and I both have obligations and duties back in Sternbild that we must attend to. We can't just wait for an exit to come to us.

[Oh, he would. But so long as Barnaby is unaware of Maverick's plans, he can't make a move.

He's not prepared to deal with all of that confusion, or to have Barnaby get mad at him for punching his surrogate Uncle in the face.]

But if there were an exit, I'd have packed up and walked through it already.

[And he says it with a pout, albeit a slightly frustrated one. He doesn't want to be here, he has a family back home, things he has to do.... his things are obviously more important than Maverick's, too.]
