Who: Tamaki and somarium
Where: In front of the Christmas tree in Espoir
Style: Either!
Status: Open~

Tamaki stood in front of the large Christmas tree, staring up at it. It was a bit odd for it to have a disco ball but...well this Christmas seemed to be as unique as the others. But for anyone passing by, they may notice a more subdued and melancholic ( Read more... )

"Rene?" small gloved hands were clasped together as Alice gazed at her older brother. She was bundled up in her cloak and galoshes and gloves and scarf. Alice wasn't taking any chances about getting sick, she never wanted to be sick again. However, the house seemed to keep getting emptier and emptier. There were only four people in the house. She was wondering if they should move into a smaller home but then, her brother wasn't exactly used to "small." People kept leaving and going. It wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling to wake up one day and find out your loved ones kept leaving ( ... )

Tamaki had no idea she had been following him, so he was quite startled when he suddenly found Alice standing there right next to him.

"Alice!? What are you doing out here?" He dropped down to one knee to fix her scarf. It was still early afternoon so it wasn't as cold as it could be, but it was still pretty cold.

And he hoped Alice wouldn't notice that her gift was somewhere in those many many bags!

"I followed you," she said, unaware of her gift in his bag. She stated the obvious. "I was curious as to where you were going.... and you looked so sad. Should I not have followed you?" she asked as she looked him in the eye. As he fixed her scarf she grabbed his wrist with her little soft mitten-covered hands.

"Are you going to be alright with Mr. Kyouya gone so near the holidays?"

He looked at her for a moment before smiling.

"No, it's fine, though you shouldn't do that too much. As for Kyouya being gone..." He gave a small smile. "It won't be the first time he left. It's always sad whenever he leaves, but I guess it does hurt a little more because I was asleep this time around."

Tamaki then placed his other hand over hers. "But I'll be fine. I still have you, Haruhi, Takuma, and many others here. Plus I know Kyouya would hit me if he knew I was upset, and he would probably rather to be home than here."

"...Tamaki."

D was heading back to the Eternal House from being sent out by Takuma to go grocery shop. The tall Hunter stood a good few feet away from the blond, his dark grey cape slung over his shoulders to combat the cold, and a few plastic bags in one hand. D hadn't seen Tamaki since... well, since he was last in Somarium. It had been a very long time.

He wasn;t even sure if the other would remember him.

But he certainly remembered the blond.

Fortunately for D, Tamaki had at least known D was back in Somarium from a previous conversation with Takuma, and he did remember! Still, it had been a while since they had talked, so it took him a moment before he saw D.

"D!" Tamaki smiled and waved. "I heard you came back!" The blond then picked up his bags and walked over toward him. "How have you been? I see you're doing a bit of shopping yourself."

The way they were both so exuberant... it was no wonder people referred to the two blonds as twins. If it was in his nature, he would of let out an exasperated sigh... but such was not the case. He watched as the other picked up all of his shopping bags and started heading towards him. The expression the other had on his face had... changed.

For now, he would push it to the side. D's lavender eyes watched as Tamaki made his way over, and the taller man nodded his head, a flurry of sable locks accompanying it.

"Takuma sent me out." Really, if it wasn't for the vampire, D would... probably not see a lot of Somarium. He didn't have much work as a hunter here.

"...You and Haruhi... congratulations." Yes, it was always a good thing back in D's world when two humans were able to live long enough to get together.

"Thank you!" Tamaki smiled, now much closer to D but still a respectable distance. "Sometimes I can still hardly believe it."

Though he was smiling, it wasn't as bright as it could have been. He was happy, yes, but the thought of the wedding only reminded him that unless Kyouya returned between now and then, his best friend would not be there. But he did not want to dwell on it so he continued to talk.

"I hope you'll be able to attend. It will be sometime in the spring." Tamaki laughed a bit. "I never imagined I would have to consider what cycle of the moon is in to plan a wedding!"

And glancing up at the big tree himself, was Haseo, hands in his coat pockets. He raised an eyebrow at the blonde. "Who was that for?"

"My best friend, Kyouya," Tamaki said with a half smile as he glanced over at Haseo. "He's already returned home, but...I still wanted to do something."

"Oh." There was an awkward pause after that. I guess he's having a pretty rough time, first getting sick..then this. He wasn't unsympathetic.

"..I'm sure he'll figure it out. This is Somarium, remember?"

Tamaki laughed a bit and nodded. "You're right. And when he comes back, I can just scold him for missing his present and not giving mine."

Shirley wanted to take some time to admire the Christmas Tree, too; and she feels kind of lucky to live so close to it. She finds herself approaching it casually, not really expecting much, other than to spend a quiet moment looking at the decorations and detail. She certainly did not expect to see Tamaki there, for whatever reason.

But when she does, she respectfully holds back before for a moment, wondering what he's putting on the tree...

A paper of some sort?

Tamaki didn't notice Shirley at first, but when he looked up, he saw her and smiled.

"Shirley!" And now he was happily waving and jogging over. Whatever sadness he had before, it was replaced by a bright smile. "I feel like we've only ever talked over the Dreamberry, so it's so good to see you in person!"

"Tamaki!"

--He certainly has a point there. This is her first time meeting him in person, isn't it? It's nice to see him smiling like that, and suddenly she is smiling as well; though it only makes her all the more curious as to what was going on beforehand. She doesn't really want to pry, though, so she'll just ask a (hopefully) more innocent question.

"It's so good to see you, too--were you decorating the tree?"

"Ah..." There was a bit of a falter as he glanced back at the tree before he looked back at her, his smile just a little softer. "Yeah, you could say that. Just leaving an ornament for a friend who recently went back home."

She couldn't miss Tamaki even paying little attention to where she was going; Haruhi had been doing shopping of her own (though she was not usually much of a shopper) and was passing back through Espoir on the way home, hands laden with bags, when she saw him.

"Tamaki?"

There were moments when Haruhi knew she was intruding on something private, even when it wasn't Tamaki involved; this was one of those moments. She waited, head tilted a little, for him to turn around for his things and said no more than that.

"Eh?" Tamaki glanced up. Oh it was Haruhi! At first he was quite happy, but out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a particular bag that had a particular present, and all at once he became flustered. With face turning red, he quickly grabbed said bag and shoved it inside another before holding them all behind his back.

"H-Haruhi!! Ah, doing some Christmas shopping?"

He hadn't thought that he would run into the very people he had been shopping for, and he really didn't want Haruhi to see at least part of the present he had gotten for her. And ah...why did she look so cute?? It was the snow, it had to be the snow.

"Do you need help carrying those?" he quickly asked as he hurried over.

Yes, despite being engaged, there were still times when Tamaki could act like a silly, young boy.

Haruhi chose not to notice his sudden bag-stuffing, instead just clutching her own bags a little more tightly. "No, I'm fine. I've carried them on my own this far, I can carry them a little longer." She did her best to keep any wryness out of her voice and succeeded fairly well.

Her eyes flickered over to the tree before returning to Tamaki. "What are you doing here?"

"Are you sure?" That really was a lot of bags...but he knew Haruhi could be stubborn. The only way he'd be able to help is if he just took them right out of her hands.

Which he may do later. But for now, she's switched the subject to his previous activity. Glancing at the tree himself, Tamaki smiled a little.

"Ah...just hanging up an ornament I bought for Kyouya." He gave a small laugh. "It's kind of strange. I didn't realize I had bought it until I was out of the store."
