She must've fallen asleep.
Sitting by Sorata's bedside, waiting for him to regain consciousness... it was the most painful thing she'd ever had to do. She looked like a mess; her eyes were red from crying so much -- she hadn't known just how many tears she had -- and she looked as

Like Karen-san.
It's not like he isn't happy to see her, but honestly, even with Subaru-san and that Kamui, he'd not really thought it would happen. It makes it harder. He can't go home without her too, obviously; he wouldn't dream of it. But he feels more pressure to leave than ever because of it.
He's thinking along these lines as he walks, trying to figure out an answer where there isn't one. He sticks mostly to the village on his walks-feels more like home-which is why it's not long at all before he sees a familiar figure in the distance.

He stops short.
Maybe he's a little slow sometimes. He hadn't expected Karen-san. He hadn't even thought to think about anyone-
Arashi.
It had to be her. He knew what she looked like. He knew her even at a distance. He'd know her if he was blind. He'd spent every spare second of months looking at her, sneaking glances when she didn't notice or when she did, if he could get away with it, memorizing every expression and feature, the color of her eyes in different lights, the way her hair fell, the way her hair fell when she first woke up, when she'd been running, when she was doing her homework, when she was walking, or sitting, or frowning, or- or crying, and she's standing right over there. She's here. Here. Right here.
Found her.
There's a trick to not being upset, and that trick is ignore it. Hide it. Forget it. Tell yourself it's okay and think of something else, anything else, hum a song, try to move your fingers, stare at the new scars, learn to write your name left-handed, do anything except think about it, about ( ... )

There's not quite enough distance between them to run, but he comes close to it, as though he's worried she'll run too (again). Has she seen him yet? He's not even paying attention. He's really not.
"Arashi!" He takes hold of her shoulder, almost grabbing with worry, not trying to, and not thinking about the use of just her name, no honorific or nickname. He doesn't even know what to say-rare, that-but he lets go (will she run off? Is she angry?), staring down at her searchingly. He doesn't even have the patience for that. "I was worried!" Without any further ado, he pulls her into a relieved embrace.

It's strange for anyone to just say her name like that, but Arashi barely takes notice. What shocks her is that voice. She knows that voice. But before she has a moment to really process, she feels a pressure on her shoulder. Her initial, gut reaction, is to tense up.
She can't un-tense. She can't...
She can't.

How unfortunate. Seishirou doesn't have that problem.
She's fast, and skilled, there's no doubt about that--but so is he. By the time she's gotten to him, he's quite simply not there anymore, having dissolved into a flurry of sakura petals. He reappears in the same way ten feet or so behind her, tucking his sunglasses into the breast pocket of his coat. His lips turn up in a small smile, and when he merely stands there, making no move to attack in return, it's obvious that he's mocking her.
It becomes painfully obvious when he actually speaks.
"Why such animosity, Miko-chan?" He questions, his tone seemingly good-natured as he ( ... )

And then he's gone. Typical of him, really. She whirls around at the sound of his voice, and stiffens at his words.
"I watched you die." If there is any emotional turmoil going on inside, she is very good at hiding it all. That's one thing she's had years of practice in, after all.
He should be dead... but there he is, standing before her, toying with her. Either he is an illusion, or his death had been one elaborate illusion. Either way... this does not look good.

He was simply going to ignore her, he shouldn't be getting involved with these people, but he couldn't help his own curiosity. After all, they come from a world where another version of himself lived. If he were to interact, it was only to find out more about the other Kamui. So he approached her carefully, keeping somewhat a distance from her.
"More, and more of you keep arriving." Kamui said out loud, but he wasn't really speaking to Arashi. Maybe he was just saying it to alert her of his presence without startling.

What does he mean by that? More and more of who, exactly? She gives him a confused look. There is something slightly off about his whole thing, but she can't place a finger on it.
"Where exactly have we arrived at?"

He didn't bother to explain it, allowing her to figure it out on her own. With arms crossed over his stomach, he answered her other question."...You've arrived in Somarium. A city within a dreamworld."

She is immediately on guard. If he's not the Kamui of the Dragons of Heaven, then he must be the one of the Dragons of Earth. But, something is off about this whole thing. She'd seen the other Kamui, and he doesn't look like this.
"A... dreamworld...?" Then, there is yet another Kamui? One of the dreams?

She doesn't expect to see much - after all, what else is there in a corn field but corn? and perhaps a few scarecrows - so when she spots instead lengthy black hair, she can't help but approach out of curiosity. A farmer, maybe? Or one of the village residents, out to pilfer some corn?
When she gets close enough to make out the details on the face, however....
"Arashi?"

It's... a phone. Except, it looks far more high-tech than anything she's seen. Though, in all fairness, having grown up in a temple, Arashi wasn't exactly the most technology-savvy person. Either way, it certainly wasn't hers, and she had never seen the thing before. And yet, she had found it in her pocket.
She's turning it on, just as she hears her name. Whirling around, she finds herself staring wide-eyed at a very familiar face. "Karen-san!" This was highly unexpected, but not unwelcomed. The device in her hand is momentarily forgotten.
"Do you know where we are?" There's a certain urgency in her voice. She needs to... get back to Sorata's bedside.

The voice is Arashi's, and the actions as well, and so Karen thinks it's safe to say that the young woman before her is actually the Arashi she knows, and not some duplicate. Admittedly, she still hasn't begun to understand the full scope of what this world can do, but from what she's gathered, this doesn't seem to be a trick of any sort.
Karen shakes her head, a frown crossing her face at the question. "Not very well. Apparently, we're in a dream world called Somarium but I'm not sure where it is in relation to Earth."
If it's even in the same universe as Earth.
She gives Arashi a cursory look over, to make sure the younger girl is alright - she seems to be - before carrying on.
"Have you seen Sorata yet?"

She barely has time to process the new information she receives, as all thoughts are momentarily forgotten at the mention of Sorata.
Arashi bites down on her lower lip, remembering the state she had last seen Sorata in. She shifts her gaze from Karen onto the ground as a wave of shame washes over her. It was her fault that he... "N-no... is he here as well? Is he... hurt...?"
