A bright flash of light appeared from above the floating castle before it descended down to the center of the village -- or what was left of it. Astride a white pegasus she stared out, high above whatever rooftops were left. Silence fell. Even the monsters stopped their ravaging, some moving back as if in fear.
But it didn't matter.
With a snap of her fingers, all of the monsters suddenly disintegrated into dust, disappearing into the wind that seemed to come from her direction. Her arms now wide open, the earth started to shift and buckle.
Debris floated above ground before suddenly whipping around to return to the buildings they once belonged to. But everything was changing. The village cottages were now renovated. Some with brick, some larger, some smaller. Even the fields were changing. The scarecrows that had since been destroyed had returned, and some were actually walking and attending what crops were there. It still held its original rustic charm, but it at least looked as if people lived in the village and maintained it.
The city also received a bit of a makeover. Not only were the buildings restored to look more like a new, modern city, new ones were created. Small little neighborhoods could be found in the residential district with small houses in each. One notable new feature was the large pool in the shopping district. But that's not at all. In fact, the whole city had grown considerably.
The barrier was recreated four miles farther out than it had been previously, and though it shimmered brightly for a few seconds, it soon returned to its invisible form. Some of the desert was inside the barrier, however. All around, at the edges of each district, there was a mile of sand between the edge of the city to the actual barrier. Camels could be found wandering near here.
One last thing was added on, and it was to the residential district. A two-mile wide lake. It was irregular in shape, and part of it actually extended out past the barrier. A small beach was still available around its edge, and some boats were already there floating tethered to the small docks. A dark shadow appeared beneath the surface before a small spout of water broke through. Then it was gone. From this lake a small network of streams broke through the city and pooled into the center of the village, creating an intricate ring around the plaza. Some were large, some were small, some leading to the already established ponds that could be found in the various parks throughout the districts, but all were surrounded by grassy embankments and were deep enough so that one could sail through the entirety of Somarium via the pseudo-canal system with a small boat. Wooden bridges were then constructed so that people could easily cross over them. A variety of fish, none that any would recognize, could also be found in all these bodies of water.
Once she was finished, she let out a long breath, and the air grew slightly colder. It was now autumn.
