This place was huge, Maka was beginning to realize even further; they-or rather, she-had been running from hall to hall, room to room for a while now, and any room that matched the descriptions made in the message on the Dreamberry hadn’t been found yet. It had started to become a little frustrating, especially when she wanted to get this ‘mystery’ solved as quickly as possible.
At least with Soul in his weapon form, she could move around a little faster at her own pace. That was one plus, but Maka couldn’t deny she felt more assured when she had a means of defense on her, especially when there was someone-or something, but neither had been confirmed as of yet-dangerous lurking about. It was easy enough to detect where everyone had split up to-by this point, she could feel their souls everywhere, far away and close by-but better safe than sorry; Maka didn’t want to be caught by surprise by something her perception ability couldn’t pick up (could someone capable of murdering these ‘ghosts’ lack a wavelength to detect? Who knew, but she wasn’t planning on finding that out in such a weird world like Somarium).
Sprinting down yet another large hallway and the scythe firmly in her hands, Maka turned down another corner before skidding to a sudden halt. There-a door, and she had already lost count of how many they had tried with no success.
“Maybe we’ll get lucky this time,” Maka said hopefully, breaking the dead silence of the corridor. With that, she pushed the large door open.
