After letting Rita and Keiichi know about the sailing trip, Spain headed out to the lake once again. He had been extremely excited and happy to see that there was, in fact, a lake, and even boats! He had missed sailing, and here was his chance to sail again, and even better, with his best friends.
Cheerily, Spain walked over to
a small cutter that looked to be in reasonable shape. He had, of course, checked out the boats before this--and had been chewed out by Rita over his lack of caution because of it--and this boat, he had decided, was their best option, as it was small enough for he and perhaps Keiichi to control while Rita performed whatever experiments she needed to do, while still large enough for the three of them to fit comfortably enough. Of course, Spain's definition of 'comfort' while on a boat was likely different than Keiichi's or Rita's, but the boat was large enough for all of them to fit, and that was all that mattered, of course.
As he waited for his friends to join him, Spain looked again at the siding of the boat, frowning slightly. It...bothered him, that he couldn't read the name of the vessel. It had been worn or washed away by something, it seemed, and all he could read was, perhaps, the faintest 'S'. Or maybe it was a 'C'? Spain didn't know and he couldn't tell, but...re-naming a boat was supposed to be bad luck. It had been considered bad luck for as long as he could remember, and old habits and beliefs die hard. So he looked at the near-blank side of the boat, almost contemplatively as he considered their options.
