It was probably foolish. He wished this man dead with every fiber of his being, but there was something in him that understood. He knew Sephiroth better than Sephiroth knew himself. He could predict his moves in battle now, after so many fights with him, so many times he'd had to kill him. His advantage with this, however, was that Sephiroth didn't know how he fought. If it came to that, he knew Sephiroth's specialties, he knew his tricks, while this Sephiroth, this "sane" man, knew nothing of him. That had been his downfall when Sephiroth returned last-- Sephiroth knew every move. Had seen them before and could tell when they were coming.
Shaking his head at himself for instantly thinking about killing him, he took a slow breath. This wasn't for that. It was to... clear things up. With the way Sephiroth's presence was driving him insane, Cloud needed to assure himself of this so-called sanity Sephiroth had. He needed to know more about him.
He needed to give him the truth, in an easier way than if he found it himself, and hope to all Hell that the man retained his sanity.
