[Big, green…blur. That’s exactly what he was looking at. Once his vision became more clear he could make out that it was a tree at least. With a grunt he sat up-- Wait, sat up? He turns to look behind him. Apparently he had been leaning against the trunk of a tree. Oh, okay…
Or not. He had been doing something, hadn’t he? And now that he was looking around this place-- was this a town? Why the hell was he in a town under a tree?
...Ah! Tree! That’s right...it was all flooding back to him as he stood up shakily on his feet. The temple, the tree, the chunk of amber...the resin...and...Flynn. With a grenade. Oh God, he could hear that pin hitting the ground and the blinding flash that occurred before he felt his body being violently thrown back then everything just...went black. And now this. But the sinking feeling of dread that was settling in the pit of his stomach was not due to his injury. No.
Elena. She had been right in front of him. Close to Flynn. Oh God no...
He rushes from underneath the tree to look around frantically.]
ELENA!?
[But the strangeness of his surroundings was causing his mind to jump. Just...stay calm.]
Okay...okay. Get a hold of yourself, Nate. If you’re here- wh-where ever here is, then Elena has to be nearby. And Chloe.
[Seriously. Was he blown clear into another world? Or maybe he was unconscious and dreaming? Was that really the only explanation he could come up with? It was certainly the most sane.]
Wait, screw this. This is a dream. [Small, awkward chuckle at himself. Ha. Figured it out.] I’m dreaming, aren’t I? Of course...of course. So. Just gotta wake up and...
[He wasn‘t going to finish that sentence. Elena had to be fine. Had to. She was a tough girl. But no more on that now. He‘ll be up soon. People normally woke up by hurting themselves, right? Well okay. And before Drake could really think that through completely he threw his fist into the trunk of a tree. Hard.]
Ah! SONOFABITCH!
[Hopefully that cracking noise he heard was the tree.]
