[It's Friday the 13th in Somarium, and for the more superstitious of you the decision to stay inside and lock your doors may have been a shrewd one. For Eas has chosen this day to launch a new attack on the city of Somni. She walks out along the front of a billboard in Somni' ( Read more... )

[From a great distance away was the wolf, lodging upon the ground as she admires around her. As a Sun Goddess it was a pleasure to make the sun so warm and clear today. However, the quiet nice day took a turn for the worse. Bad luck and the such never appeared in Amaterasu's book, nothing she had heard of or likely to pay attention to. But with the sounds of screaming and a giant figure in the distance, it was a call for danger ( ... )

[A few broad, swift strides - his body angled low against the wind like a streamlined bullet - and then he sprung from the edge of a roof towards the shoulder of the mechanical beast as if with wild abandon, his clothes billowing, dark hair whipping about like the flames of a torch. A kiai surged from the core of his being and blasted out his lungs as he readied his blade, its fearsome edge glinting in the sun - and with a blur of his hand, he struck fiercely at the attacker’s arm with the intention of lopping it off. But where Zantetsuken had slid through tanks as smoothly as a fin through water, it only bounced off the giant with a hard, resonating clang that sent a painful tremor through his arm. The samurai landed lightly on the balls of his feet an instant later, his jaw subtly tightening.]

Shimatta…[He hissed under his breath. This was not the outcome he had hoped for, but while a tinge disappointed and anxious on account of his failure, he was not dumbstruck. It seemed many ‘creatures’ unique to Somarium were partly or ( ... )

[The Nakewameke stumbles back, stopped in its tracks by the multiple clean hits. It turns its attention away from the fleeing couple and to the new arrival.]

NAKEWAMEKE! [It reaches up to its shoulders, pulls out a handful of playing cards and shuriken-throws them towards the samurai.]

[The ronin flicked a sharp glance over his shoulder at the fleeing Amaterasu and the ‘stranger’ accompanying her, readily trusting the man to escort her away and out of danger’s way and care for her. She was a capable fighter - he remembered this from the encounter long ago with the giant squid in Lake Meridian - and if she were escaping, Goemon could only assume she had been wounded to the point of being incapacitated ( ... )

[Eas watches him stumble for a moment. Good, he's being affected by the aura. But those other two are getting away!]

Nakewameke! Dispose of him quickly and get that girl before she escapes!

NAKEWAMEKE! [The Nakewameke lifts up a massive fist and slams it into the road, causing the ground to shudder violently.]

[Goemon’s head snapped upwards, dark, wary eyes pinning down the source of the voice shouting commands at a distance; while there was nothing he could do about her at present, he tried to commit to memory her appearance in the brief span of time he could afford to shift his focus away from the giant.

Given how large it was and the slowness that came with bulk, its destructive intentions were somewhat more clearly telegraphed than that of a human opponent - so by the time it smashed its hand down and sent a rippling shockwave through earth and concrete, the samurai had already leapt off the ground, aware that he would have been near-paralyzed by the juddering shock the impact created or even thrown off his feet had he stood idle just an instant longer. Using its fist as something to spring off of, Goemon then shot up into the air and swung vigorously at its head (if it had much of any…) with fierce, stubborn resolve; for Amaterasu's sake - for his own sake - he had to try.]
