[ Rose continues to type away on her Dreamberry as a substitute for her laptop, noting silently that she needs to invest in a journal of some sort for later excursions.

Her eyes shift toward the man to regard him momentarily. It's times like this she wishes she wasn't so young looking, maybe people would take her a bit more seriously. ]

Oh, yes, but thankfully you came just in time to bring this poor misguided youth back into the city. I surely would have been meandering in circles for the remainder of my days until I collapsed and the vultures had their way with the discarded remains of my body.

[ There might be the smallest hints of a smirk on her lips then, but it isn't very obvious. ]

Then 'no'. [ She was intrigued. He was obviously not out here for leisure, and judging by the small group in the distance and the plural 'we', it must have been some sort of hunting trip. Or something far more dangerous than mere sport. She couldn't tell quite yet.

She set her needles into the loop of her sash, ] Looking for clues, hints as to a way out of here, buried treasure, sunken cities, the usual that may be hidden in ruins in the middle of the desert.

[ She doesn't even bother looking when he points, ]

Well, you've caught me; the illustrious crab-killer of Somarium. Please go easy on me, 'twas all in self-defense.

[ Dangerous indeed. Good thing she never got her answer in that crystal ball or else she'd be even more dangerous. However, that little point was driven out of her mind for now as she was set to explore the new world her and her friends had been dropped into.

She did gather useful information, at least. The story the ruins told her on the walls, while overdone and rather cliche, was interesting. And the fact that the crabs she killed did not explode into grist even more so. That was proof enough that this was not part of the game.

And if it were truly a dream world, maybe there was a way for her to go through with her original plan. Somehow. ]

I've only been here a few days and I'm already being threatened with prison sentences. Not one of my finer moments.

And might I ask why you're out here?

The ruins have some rather interesting information. Plenty of wall drawings and a clever little story.

How goes your little exploratory expedition? Finding anything amongst the giant crabs and, well, sand?

[ She glances back to the said ruins a moment, then back to him. ]

It's not too difficult to decipher, [ says the girl that was given magical powers from gods. ] It seems there's a sink hole that, if one is daft enough to come close to, sucks them in and devours them. Said sinkhole also spits out monsters-- I assume monsters like the ones I've been running into since I came out here.

The swirling black abyss? That's what was depicted, and from the looks of things it isn't too difficult for people and other beings to be swallowed up and/or spit out.

Did anyone try using magic?

[ Noting all of this via Dreamberry now. ] You mean you don't want to try jumping into the potentially dangerous abyss of nothingness out of sheer curiosity?
