Host Club Sign-Up + Event!
This post actually serves two functions: Host Club/Cafe Sign-ups and an upcoming Host Club event!
Host Club/Cafe Sign-up
First, Tamaki will soon be in dire need for more hosts/hostesses and general waiters/waitresses at his cafe. If anyone thinks their character would be interested in joining up, there will be a thread designated for sign-ups o/ If there are a lot, what will most likely happen is that Tamaki will just set it up as some kind of shift schedule that characters could come in and such, but I'll make another post about that.
Also, it is possible for a character to be both a host/hostess and a waiter/waitress. Or they can just be one but not the other. It's pretty flexible!
So under the thread with the Subject Line HOST/HOSTESS & WAITER/WAITRESS SIGN-UP HERE, just comment with the following form filled in!
Character Name:
Character Journal:
Which Job? Host/Hostess/Waiter/Waitress or BOTH
Any particular specialties or characteristics? What makes this character an ideal host/hostess/waiter/waitress? Do they have special traits or special talents?
Next order of business is an upcoming Host Club event that will be held Friday, July 9.
St. Bridget's Day Host Club Event
This is based off an event from Pandora Hearts (Sharon suggested it to Tamaki and we all know what happens when Tamaki hears a suggestion), and this is the basic description:
Once upon a time there was a beautiful blue-winged angel who fell in love with a mortal upon earth. Normally, angels resided high upon the clouds, but their love was so strong that this angel, Saint Bridget, wished to descend and visit him upon earth. In order to allow her to travel to earth safely and help her blend in, everyone dressed in their finest clothes adorned with blue feathers. This would help hide the identity of the angel amongst them. It was a very happy and joyous affair, and ever since, there has been a celebration to allow people to dress in gorgeous clothing and pretend to be someone else for a day.
One may let go of the troubles of ‘identity’ and ‘expectations’, simply enjoying oneself however one pleases. In order to add to the tradition, the entire town experiences a wondrous party for a day, and at the end, to commemorate the end of the festival, a stunning fireworks show takes place. At the end, feathers (that were handed out freely at the beginning) are exchanged between loved ones.
To make it more workable with the game setting and the characters, this is how our version will be like:
The event will essentially be a formal/ball type event that focuses on dancing and socializing. Everyone will be well dressed, and there will be food available. It's also an open-invite party, so anyone can come in so long as they follow the dress code. It will be held in some random fancy hotel ballroom somewhere in the city and there will also be gardens available for people to walk through.
Feathers will be given to all the gentleman who arrive, and they must give the feather to his favorite girl or Sharon will flip tables. It is possible for a girl to receive multiple feathers.
The hosts and hostesses will also be participating to help anyone who may be single or may be a little shy. The hostesses are also open for receiving feathers. But in general they will be around (in special attire) to help keep up the atmosphere and assist anyone who may need it. Any of the new recruits will also be able to attend as hosts/hostesses if they choose to do so.
Also, to help prevent spamming the community, all of the prep work will be done OOCly and can be assumed to be done ICly. This includes the sign-ups, though I will make future "Open Cafe" posts that everyone can just hope in and mingle in.
So there will be fliers posted around Somarium with general information about the above.
