Baltimore!

It's been a long time since i last made a post on the day-to-day events of my life.  there were probably a few occasions that i could have written pretty long entries for (the DC trip last semester comes to mind, but lucy posted enough pictures to equal several million words), but mostly i've just been too lazy to do it.  i just got up this morning ( Read more... )

aw haha, what fun. i don't think i've ever read an "events of my life" post from lidang before :P

mm.. so i saw 1700 and thought 5:00...AM. yay for SoT though :D

i volunteered at HMMT today! the room was filled with math nerds, they scared me. thank goodness it doesn't take math genius to grade other people's answers :P

wheee and one more line to make the comment look proportionately long :D

loll, fair point. they're not generally scary on their own, but when they all get together and sound insanely math-y and way over my head, it IS kinda scary. it was like a room full of math majors.. and me. :P esp since i was sitting next to my calc TA who's placed top 5 in putnam for the past three years and will probably get it this year too.

:(

wanna trade TA's? there isn't one for math, but my compsci one is pretty average, with an Eastern European accent to boot.

wow, a very nice change from math entries. I was highly amused through the entire thing, and now I'm sad that I couldn't go. :( Being lost in Baltimore kinda sucks though.

Xianghai's hard to imagine wearing a suit. >.< You would be too if I hadn't seen the picture of you in a tux with Anastasia. :P

lol, I do believe I told you that Richard doesn't figure out he's a Rahl till the next book. :P

And dude!! You were so scary before I knew you!! So I must agree with Anastasia there. ;)

...so when you didn't know me, talking about math scared you, but now that you know me, all i can get is a smile and nod with a vacant expression when i get too into compsci...

that's one more thing on my to-do list: make an effort to be more intimidating :P

actually, i don't think you were scary because you were a math nerd. i think it was more the waves of insane intelligence that were radiating. and the fact that you're tall. :P

Actually, Anastasia's pretty correct with the above comment. Except I only knew you as a math nerd so I guess math nerd just added to the scariness. :P

And I tend to make an effort not to be intimidated by my own friends. :P Especially now that I know they're not quite as intimidating as before. Although Anastasia with her own waves of insane intelligence makes me shake in my boots plenty :D
