I don't know how many on my f-list watches The O.C., but if you do and you missed the season finale and you haven't watched it yet...
Ok, I haven't watched The O.C. in a lot of weeks. It just got too redic and whatever. Well, I just happened to be watching the series finale of That 70's Show and decided to see the season finale of O.C. So, I watch, and I'm flipping between the channels and I'm only really watching because the previews said "One of these people will not survive the night..." and showed all the main characters. I figured it would be Julie because no one really cares about her...well...that's not true, but yeah...basically, Seth smokes up at the Newport Group, burns the place down, confesses, Sandy loves him, gets him off, he's going to RISD so he'll be close to Summer, Marissa is going on a yacht with her father to work for the next year, Ryan gets a car from his mom, everything is great...So who gets killed?
Marissa. What the hell? They seriously killed her? Can they just kill a main character like that? I haven't done any research about Mischa Barton yet, but I'm curious to see why she left the show. She's really dead. Not like in last year's season finale when we thought Trey might be dead, but he was really alive...she...stopped breathing...in Ryan's arms. Ok, I shed a tear, but I mean, it's Marissa! She grew on me. And Ryan's new car blew up, which was my first thought after Ryan pulled Marissa from the car. I'm really sad. And I don't know why. My first reaction was "Awesome! Finally, Marissa is dead!" But the show won't be the same without her and while I don't watch the show that much anymore, I still catch the occassional epi. Le sigh.
Oh, and they're bringing Seventh Heaven back for the new CW network. I thought that show was dead. No no, it's only Brenda Hampton's soul that is dead.
eta: She wanted off the show:
This is from some article Paula copy and pasted for me:
"Mischa Barton telling Access Hollywood that her character, Marissa Cooper, dies on Thursday's season finale of The O.C., seemingly confirming rumors that she is leaving the show. Were this the show's first season, or maybe even the second, we'd be far more intrigued. Seeing as that's the last time we actually watched."
Ok, that's stupid seeing as she wouldn't be the budding Hollywood starlet she is without the show. Lame, Mischa, totally lame.
