 Should I become a redhead with bangs?

What sort of bangs?  Generic indie girl bangs?  Feist bangs?  Kari Byron from Mythbusters bangs?  Keep in mind my hair is really thick and kind of wavy.

What sort of redhead?  Copper?  Burgundy?  I won't bleach my hair.  I'm leaning toward burgundy.

Being bald, I have nothing to contribute to this thread, other than to say I have nothing to contribute. Much like for this other thread.

Since this is one of the few subjects that I know more of than some people, here I go. A bit of hair school. Just for FYI, the way hair chemicals work (cosmetology school ftw) there is no way you can get a really brilliant red without using bleach. Rule of thumb is this -

Color ADDS to hair, and has LIMITED ability to lighten up to 2 shades (not much). Generally, ALL color will make your hair darker, not lighter, at all.

Bleach TAKES from hair, and removes the carbon in it that gives it the color it has.

So, while you could likely get a deep, deep dark mahogany red of Rose McGowan or some of Angelina Jolie's looks, you will not be noticeably RED without bleach.

That said, my hair color is way overrated. Yours is fucking gorgeous, and I recommend keeping it. If you are of a mind to change the cut, I'd recommend long, face framing bangs as opposed to forehead eating ones.

Go burgundy - I'm trying to picture your skins tones and I think they will look good with this and it might make your eyes pop - go try on wigs or take a picture of yourself and change the hair colors on it to get the idea of what it might look like.

Also keep in mind that doing a color over or a tint on your current hair may look really good.

Strange, there must be something about this time of year - your the 2nd or 3rd person I know of thinking of doing something different to their hair (myself included).

I would vote for the Kari Byron hairstyle. But with red streaks instead of all red. That would be hot.
