A topic that just came up over an impromptu late night dinner of improvised nachos: we should totally do a dinner comprised entirely of the most yuppified interpretations of middlebrow chain restaurant sports bar snack food possible.  For instance:

Chili cheese fries - Yukon Gold steak frites topped with melted raclette, serrano ham, and cornichons ( Read more... )

Sliders - lamb, veal, elk, and wild boar min-burgers on mini cibatta rolls. With designer mustards and ketchups.

With homemade yuppie potato chips of course:

preheat oven to 400°
slice potato 1/8" thick
put into bowl and drizzle on olive oil
toss well to coat
lay chips in a single layer on a cookie sheet
give each chip a light (or heavy) grind of fresh black pepper
cook for 15mins and then flip them over
continue to cook until they are lightly brown and crispy
sprinkle with salt and serve hot and crispy

I just got a super-sweet beer-writing/pairing gig...
Give me the parameters, and by God, I will find you highbrow, yuppified versions of PBR etc!

Deep Fried CheesSticks much in the same way you're doing the poppers... Gruyere, Muenster, Provolone and Smoked Gouda in planko breadcrumb and/or a buckwheat tempura, served with a mango-cilantro chutney dipping sauce.

Hand-rolled semolina pretzel sticks sprinkled with kosher salt.

Beer Nuts made from macadamias in a molasses cream brittle.

That's all i got right now.

White trash stuffing is a "reciepe" that I came up with in my bachelor days...

One box Stove Top stuffing, replace water with the white wine of your choice.

Not terribly bar foodish, but hey I always enjoyed it.
But according to 'some guy' I saw on the food network the other day, bar food can mean "Stew".
