Hmm...my wedding planning's been mostly self directed and low drama, so I don't have a good one about my own mom, but I recall a tale about a good family friend whose mother got SO into things that her family actually bought her a director's chair and bullhorn. :)
It doesn't go as high as Randy's white ones, meybe 6" shorter, but should work.
I can toss that in the car and drop it off some evening if you like.
Alternately, if you want something bigger, I do need to get off my arse and redo my poles for my pavillion before Pennsic. It is an 11x14 white canvas with blue trim.
The walls are completely removable and are on snap-hooks, so they go up in seconds if you need rain-sheltering as well as sun sheltering.
Ooh, tough one. I think I have to say Vietnamese, especially northern Vietnamese...I still have dreams about the bun cha (BBQ pork patties in soup with fresh herbs, a street food dish) I had in Hanoi. Amod cooks mean northeastern Thai, though, so it's kind of a toss up. If you like spicy stuff we should cook some for you some time!
