Oh, man that was an incredible last quarter! I had almost given up on my Bears, almost turned the channel. I'm so glad I didn't. Even though the Cardinals lost more than the Bears won, I'll take it. 6-0!
To be sure. But I think the Cardinals did gain something. They confirmed that taking Matt Leinart that far down was a steal. He looked pretty darned good against a superb defense.
Very true. He was quite a find. I'm interested to know what the atmosphere is like in Arizona right now. The preseason hype was incredible, but I never took it to be a football state. (And Phoenix is rather defeatist about its sports record.)
The stadium is the draw. And the BCS Championship that will grace it in January. I wonder, though, whether that will last. Arizona is a baseball state, but the Diamondbacks can't fill the BOB ever. The Suns, on the other hand, have no trouble at all being financially strong.
You're right about baseball. Who would have thought we would become a baseball state? Actually, as I write that I remember the Cactus League. In a way, we've been a baseball state for a while, in a way that few other states have had the opportunity to.
